Yeah idk tbh, but this is what the email said:
"Thank you for applying to the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-WCOM), and for your continued interest by confirming your place on our alternate list.
As you know, admission to medical school is extremely competitive, and receiving a place on our alternate list in itself is a huge accomplishment. This year MU-WCOM received more than 4,800 applications for the 162 available positions for the class of 2029. Needless to say, there were a number of exceptional candidates who were not able to be selected for admission to the D.O. program this year.
As a result, and in collaboration with our MU-WCOM Biomedical Science Master’s Program (BMS), we have developed a new track that allows students to earn a spot in the MU-WCOM class of 2029, which matriculates in fall 2026, by successfully completing this one-year Master’s program. This direct admit program is only offered to select applicants and is a way to further show your ability to be successful in a medical school curriculum.
Enrollment in 2026 will be based on successful completion of the MU-WCOM BMS program and the attainment of several requirements including, in part, a minimum of a 3.6 GPA in the fall and spring semesters, enrolling in the Capstone Track and adhering to clearly articulated professionalism standards. Students in this track will not need to pay to re-apply on AACOMAS or interview again for the class matriculating in 2026.
At this time, we are just letting you know about the program and wanting to know if you are interested in learning more.
Being accepted and enrolling into our BMS direct admit program
will NOT remove you from our current alternate list and the potential to be accepted into the incoming DO class of 2029.
If you would like information on our direct admit program join us for a virtual information session on
Thursday, Feburary 13th at 3pm ET.
