This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Interviewed 9/24 and still haven't heard anything. Do I reach out or is this normal?

I interviewed 10/21 and reached out. All they said to me was that my application is in line to be reviewed. So there is no harm in reaching out but they might not give you any helpful info 😭😭

they rlly skipped the first week of november

Same.. I interviewed 10/16 and emailed but they just said my app is in line for review 😞😞

Some people waited 14-16 weeks last year. Focus on writing updates and staying busy. Easier said than done, I know.

Is the lack of a teaching hospital a major issue?
They acquired a teaching hospital at West Reading (with the affiliate Tower Health hospitals), which Philadelphia students may choose to rotate at or stay a year long during their clinical years.

Hi everyone. Jumping on late to this. I got an interview on Dec 17 and its coming up on January 15th. Anyone have any tips on the interview? Was it laid back and were the questions straight forward? I am expected the typical why drexel? why medicine? what is your accomplishment? whats your weakness? it is those kinds of questions or weird ones that ask you situational based questions. Really nervous for the interview so would love some insight into it. Thank you

My interview was super relaxed. Definitely straightforward questions like you listed, but I didn’t personally have any situational questions. I would suggest to look up your interviewer before as well to gauge what kinds of questions they might ask, and also look at the SDN for the interview, as there are many example questions. Good luck!!

Second this! I don't recall specifics, but a couple questions from their SDN interview page came up. Mine was also very relaxed, and I tried to just be myself and emphasize what I wanted to do in my career. Know a basic outline of your answers, but the more natural/conversational you can make it, the better!

I interviewed November 1st, should I email them?
You’re only 10 weeks post interview. It’s not uncommon for Drexel to be 12-16 weeks, especially with the holidays. I’d just wait until they send a decision, unless they told you to email.

Well, I think given that some applicants from November have heard already, my guess is that we will find out within the next month. Potentially they randomize candidates and review them individually after a group (maybe a month of interviews) has interviewed.

Did anyone else have a pre-interview hold on their application? I got the hold email 10/17, and sent in an update letter 1/8, but I guess I was scrolling SDN and Reddit and people seem to say a pre-interview hold is a soft R. Does anyone have experience with this? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!!!

n=1 but my last cycle i got a pre-interview hold and was subsequently rejected. this cycle i was not put on hold and.... still no news!

i don't think there's any way for us to definitely know what it means, but based on a brief skim of previous forums, i didn't see any examples of people getting off the "hold." that's not to say it isn't possible, though!

if you have a substantial update, it can't hurt!
I think it is. New job, poster presentation on some secondary research I did, and a lot more shadowing. (also I graduated, but prolly won't include that and will just send final transcript separately).
