Please feel free to tag a pre-medical moderator once the secondary prompt has been posted.

Good luck to everyone applying!

I'm currently working on the VCOM secondary app, and there's a part where it asks you to: "Please account for all periods of time since high school graduation to the present, even if these experiences are listed on your AACOMAS application. You must account for any "gaps" other than summer vacations in schools." Does this mean I only need to list experiences that account for "gaps" (for example: 2018-2022 University, 2022-2024 research assistant), or do I have to list every single thing?

Current students..do yall have clinical rotations in New Orleans and surrounding area?

Someone I know got a secondary email from the Virginia campus today! Has anyone gotten a secondary from Louisiana yet? 😩

I thought it was one umbrella application. I only applied to auburn on AACOMAS and got it 5/16

Does anyone know when they send information out for those who apply early decision?

I'm sure you've already submitted but I believe this means everything. Like include work, volunteering, and shadowing you did.

Are most people interviewing in driving distance of the campus? I live far away from the school and am trying to determine if there are other airports nearby Monroe, LA that may be cheaper to fly into. Any rec's?

Congrats, first of all! Some objective advice I can give you would be to brush up on the mission statement, goals, and current projects of the school. They are very mission oriented and love to see an applicant who shows interest and initiative in learning about their program. It also helps to know a bit about the community the medical school is located in (It was built with intention to address their needs).

That being said. The interview felt flexible, allowing me and the interviewer to direct the conversation to our interests. At the beginning, there were some standardized questions so just be prepared for the big 3 questions. To be very honest, the best interview help I received was by reading the feedback from all the adcoms and faculty on sdn like goro, LizzyM, wysdoc, etc.

As someone who gets very nervous, I tried not to follow a script. This way, if I deviated, I did not freak out, lol. Also, learning not to beat myself up every time I made a mistake during a conversation (i.e. saying something stupid or perceived to be the 'wrong answer'). That helped the conversation feel less stressful for both interviewer and myself. (If I was talking to someone else who made a mistake because they were nervous, I wouldn't hold it against them, so why should we do the same to ourselves.)

My advice won't be good for everyone, so just trust yourself. You are gonna rock your interview, congrats.

I have an interview here soon as well!! Id assume it is just an individual interview? DId they ask any curve ball questions?
