Any info/advice you can share about the interview? I am interviewing on Friday at the LA campus.
Congrats, first of all! Some objective advice I can give you would be to brush up on the mission statement, goals, and current projects of the school. They are very mission oriented and love to see an applicant who shows interest and initiative in learning about their program. It also helps to know a bit about the community the medical school is located in (It was built with intention to address their needs).
That being said. The interview felt flexible, allowing me and the interviewer to direct the conversation to our interests. At the beginning, there were some standardized questions so just be prepared for the big 3 questions. To be very honest, the best interview help I received was by reading the feedback from all the adcoms and faculty on sdn like goro,
LizzyM, wysdoc, etc.
As someone who gets very nervous, I tried not to follow a script. This way, if I deviated, I did not freak out, lol. Also, learning not to beat myself up every time I made a mistake during a conversation (i.e. saying something stupid or perceived to be the 'wrong answer'). That helped the conversation feel less stressful for both interviewer and myself. (If I was talking to someone else who made a mistake because they were nervous, I wouldn't hold it against them, so why should we do the same to ourselves.)
My advice won't be good for everyone, so just trust yourself. You are gonna rock your interview, congrats.
