Combination of both. You could tell they had to get through a certain # of questions but they were still trying their best to make it conversational. Felt good vibes, don't stress!

I agree with @medcarrot . As with any interview, they have to ask you some of the standard interview questions. The vibes were great and it had a laid back, conversational feel.
Things happen and they expect that to a certain extent. When is your interview? If it's still a good bit away, I would change it on the portal and then send them an email explaining the reasoning. However, I will let you know that they specifically say to be available from 11-4 on interview day for any issues, and they can't promise that you'll get the time you request. IMO, I would use PTO if you can just to be safe

During the student panel for sure. The presenter during the rest of the day did say to type in questions to the chat if we had any, so there were opportunities (although I don't think anyone asked anything lol). But they did a great job of covering essentially all the questions you could think of anyway

I would say this comment was pretty spot on in terms of how it felt!

It was fantastic! My interviewer was very personable and encouraging. There were definitely pre-written questions but it was still quite conversational. You can tell they want you to relax and just be yourself. Very good vibes.

neither, it was a graduate of the school
I thought it was super laidback. Interviewed by a current MS4 so that might’ve helped ease the nerves just a little bit. We ended up talking about a common hobby for a good part of it but there was definitely a set of questions that they were trying to get through. Relax and you’ll do great 😊

Hi so I submitted my application mid-August but on the portal it just says "your application is ready" is that ok? I notice for other schools I applied to it originally said "your application is complete" and then moved to "your application is under review" does this all mean the same thing?

I interviewed already and mine still says “Your application is ready.” So that’s the normal status once everything is complete! 🙂

i had my info session on monday & wanted to answer a few quick questions I've been seeing on here!
interviews are partially open - they see your demographics, work/activities, and essays, but they don't see gpa/mcat
eta for hearing back from interviews was 12-14 weeks I think?

Yeah 12-14 weeks, but based on previous years they sent out their first round of decisions within the week following Oct 15th. So if you interviewed in the first week or two, you might hear then.
I feel like people don't know this because this is my 4th cycle and I only learned it this year, but schools using AMCAS can't give out acceptances until Oct 15th regardless of interview date. So no matter what we have to wait until then.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’m allowed to disclose that, sorry! My advice is to make sure you’re knowledgeable about the field you’re entering (trends in medicine, issues facing physicians) and have answers to the common interview questions (challenge you faced, tell me about yourself, why medicine) and you’ll be golden! There aren’t any true curveballs, but they do ask a few questions beyond the standard.
Does anyone know if Georgetown has historically sent out acceptances on October 15th?
Last year they sent some on Oct 17
Yeah in years past they typically send their first wave within the week following the 15th

Hi! I just finished an interview here. I want to write a thank you note but unfortunately I was so nervous that I forgot to write down my interviewer's name. Does anyone know what I should do? I feel like it would be disingenuous to write a thank you note without addressing the name of my interviewer.

If you go to the interview portal, click on the "Interview Acknowledgment" tab. Once you're on that tab, you'll see your interviewer's name and see the upload button for the thank you letter!!

Yeah I don't think anyone has heard back yet unless they have gotten an II. I don't see any rejections on cycletrack or here so I'd assume most of us are still waiting! Wishing luck for both of us!

Anyone expecting news today? Seems like we might get it either today or later this week based on past years, but timeline was 12-14 weeks after interview per presentation
I wouldn't necessarily expect anything today, but it is possible. The last two Oct 15's fell on the weekend so that may work in our favor that they could release them today. I would say by the end of the week the first batch will be released, and if not, early next week.
P.S. The 2022-2023 cycle they called students over the weekend for the first batch lol
