2024-2025 Georgetown

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone know how the scholarships are here, hope to get accepted but the tuition seems unreal
From the info sesh they made sure to say that there was no merit-based anything, only financial aid unfortunately D :

Also got an A off the WL!! Interviewed on 9/4, WL on 12/7 and sent a fat letter of interest the same day
Can I ask you what topics you focused on? I submitted an update literally the day before getting waitlisted lol so I have no additional ones, but was wondering how exactly to craft a letter just for interest. thank uuu

This might be a dumb question, but when you submit your post-waitlist letter of interest, does your text box page still look the same and it allows you to edit the text even after you press submit?

I interviewed on 1/10 does it make sense to send an update letter about an abstract and poster presentation + oral presentation that I will be doing

You said the presentations you will* be doing, update once you have actually done them. Has your abstract been submitted yet?
My abstract has been submitted. The presentation is at the end of March so I feel like the committee will have already reviewed my application by then?

Okay that def changes things. It could warrant an update, and Georgetown is really friendly of updates, so I don't see a problem with submitting one.

Where in the portal can updates be submitted? I can't find the tab. I assume "Post Submission" but my portal says "Sorry - the post submission form is now closed." Can I no longer submit updates? That seems odd being that it is only the middle of December, but I could be wrong
Same thing happened to me

When do you guys think they're releasing decisions for people who interviewed in early November?

Do you guys know when the majority of the waitlist movement will happen? I've been on the waitlist since 12/07/24. J curious!

Can someone explain the post-II timeline? I interviewed mid November and am wondering when we are supposed to hear back

hey, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on when to best sent out an update letter/letter of interest post interview? maybe in a general sense? and if georgetown is a bit different, is there a different timeline to follow? from what ive seen, they like to see students interest

When are we thinking the next round of decisions/ waitlist decisions coming out? It's been relatively quiet here for a while.

This might be a dumb question but I’m just making sure- I already filled out FAFSA and the questionnaire for GUSOM but i’m looking at CSS and realizing i’m not going to qualify for need based aid i don’t think. If I just don’t submit it I’m still eligible for any merit scholarship in theory (I know they don’t really have any) and loans and everything correct?? It seems like a huge hassle to do CSS for probably no reason

Georgetown doesn’t do merit based aid. I would do the CSS if you can, you never know what will happen

Advice on post-interview pre-decision update letters and letters of interest or intent? I know Georgetown likes to receive these letters, but I am feeling somewhat lost in regards to the timeline. I personally thought letters made more sense and would be more effective when sent if waitlisted. Would not sending a letter while waiting to hear back hurt me in any way, or vice versa? Can a letter with meaningful updates at this point in time possibly turn a R into a WL or A, or a WL to an A?

They accept letters of interest/update post-interview and pre-decision. They don't accept letters of intent pre-decision.

I'm not sure about the rest. Probably sending it sooner than later is good? It takes them roughly 3 months to review applications post-interview.

How do you know they don’t accept letters of intent pre-decision?

WL early Nov interview 🙁
Anyone know what the chances of getting moved off are

does Georgetown require we update documents on IDOC? I dont see it listed.
I don't think Georgetown requires that we upload documents to IDOC. A few other schools may so they need you to upload those documents and it'll say which schools on your portal.
