Please make sure to confirm this! I spoke with a Howard Undergrad applying this cycle and he stated that HUCM attempts to interview as many as possible that meet the 494 MCAT requirement. That was his explanation for why the process is usually longer for this specific school.

From what I’ve been told, they’ve been sending interviews for 510+ MCAT’s first. Then Dec/Jan onward will be sub-510 MCAT’s. But based on last years thread a lottttt of interviews went out jan/feb as well and as late as april! So keep the faith!

any idea on roughly how many interviews and A’s have went out so far?

Hmmm but I imagine that would result in more than the ~300 they supposedly interview, based on what they have on their website. Unless they’ve increased the interview pool?
 
Is it worth it to attend multiple First Fridays? I attended the first one for this application cycle back when I wasn't working but I can't really attend anymore bc of my job. Do they give any new information regarding the app cycle?

That's a good point. I hope that they have increased the pool. Albeit, don't they usually get thousands of apps?

I missed the last 2 First Fridays due to a schedule conflict 🙁

I signed up another time this week, so fingers crossed it goes well and I also just sent an update letter. Man, I've never wanted to get an interview from a school this much.

i have a 510+ but haven't heard back... that said I am also a Canadian applicant

Same but I’m a US applicant.
 
I submitted super late: primary app in on Nov 19th, secondary submitted on Nov 23rd, secondary acknowledgement on Dec 2nd (When I made my list, they required CASPer and I didn't have the time/money to do it then, so I applied to schools that didn't require SJTs) I know I'm at the BACK of the line and they won't get back to me till like Mar/Apr, but I hope we all get our top choices!!!!

they mainly talk about the school and application process and allow you to ask questions, nothing specific to the cycle. they did say how much applicants they had and might let you know other details if you ask. i think this is more tailored to persons that are applying next cycle to be prepared and know what to expect.

I have 510+, US URM applicant with 500+ community service hours and heard nothing 😔

Still waiting too with a 510+. I got the application reviewed email on 09/13 and silence since then. Hopefully invites are not really split between 510+ and below 510

I have a lower MCAT, interviewed in Oct, accepted in Nov. The accepted gc has a large variety of MCAT scores. that statement is completely untrue.

I guess it varies depending on your GPA. Some people already accepted may have high GPAs and lower MCAT scores (<510), while others may have lower GPAs and higher MCAT scores (510+). You may be one of those that have a higher GPA.

we’re glossing over other contributing factors such as ECs, LORs, PS, mission fit, completion date, etc.. that goes into the admissions process. Don’t get too caught up on stats on whether or not you’ve gotten a II.

You're right about that, too. Stats are only one of the contributing factors.

Around 40. Keep in mind not everyone in it will attend, so there are so many more spots left. There is a reason they emphasize that stats are not everything. Also, a large portion of the previous class interviewed later in the cycle (I’ve talked to 2 that said they interviewed in March) and got in and/or came off the waitlist. And I honestly think this can apply to many other schools
