At my interview, they said to consider a waitlist an acceptance because a lot of people get off the waitlist. For anyone wondering they also said they technically had to fill their entire class (130 people I believe) on 3/1 but they expect a lot spots to open up come April as people w/ multiple acceptances commit to other schools.

The Preliminary Academic Reinforcement Program (PARP) at Howard University College of Medicine is a six-week summer program for selected incoming students, aiming to provide academic orientation and facilitate the transition from undergraduate study to medical school, with successful completion guaranteeing admission.

Apparently last week was when the last batch of II were sent. However, you can email Ms. Folwkes to confirm.

My interview is on Wednesday and I'm nervous and anxious. I'm praying that spots will still be available. I am happy you were able to get an acceptance, even if it is conditional, because I'm sure you are going to rock those 6 weeks. At this point I would love to have the same opportunity vs being waitlisted, which I will gladly accept because I'd still be in the game, or a rejection. Yes, most of your summer is gone, but it is definitely worth the trade-off.

I am honestly super grateful for the opportunity, I can kill it during those six weeks, really lock in and get my work done. Your interview will go great, show them who you are, why Howard is an amazing fit for you, and how you fit into the mission. Best of luck, DM me after id love to hear about it!

if anyone’s emailed admissions or Ms. Williams-Fowlkes recently, how long has it taken to get a response?
 
I’m going to another school. Does anyone know how do I get the good faith deposit back?
 
Placed on alternate list today. Still holding out hope.

They said the class was full so tbh it was expected. They said the waitlist would be a very likely outcome. (Grateful for the transparency because other schools have not been) however she did say April 15th and 30th are important dates for people to commit to one school so she expects a lot of seats to open around that time and in previous years 80% of the class have been off the waitlist.

Interesting! Scary for them to give hope where it isn't guaranteed haha. I just wish we knew how many people were on the waitlist. And what our rank was!!! Just so i could prepare myself. Guess we just gotta keep waiting T_T

Yes it’s the not knowing the ranking that worries me but it ain’t over till July 8th. Let’s keep the hope future doc!

I tried emailing her and HUCM Admissions and no response 🙁 I think they’re super busy rn. Have you tried calling? I did and their mailbox is also full
 
Im wondering if it’s possible that I can go ask in person? I think I’m going to DC soon anyway. Is this possible?😅

I will do my best to. Also replying to the message above me in regards to the accreditation visit — hopefully that goes well and hopefully this is also a reason they are very busy rn and not responding to anyone ;(
