2024-2025 Johns Hopkins

Many of these gestures have practical consequences, though. Just look at the NIH funding freezes, the DoE being gutted, or the fact that they  did go after Columbia.

Yeah, people shouldn't entirely change course in response to these sorts of actions unless absolutely necessary, but it's important to be aware of the ramifications of these policies. Downplaying them is unwise given the historical precedent there is for attacks on education of this scale, not to mention the consequences we're already seeing.
Success in the practice of medicine already depends on many more factors beyond science and clinical ability. The reimbursement landscape, mid level creep etc. are becoming more important by the day. No student should make a decision solely based on the “reputation” of a medical school.

Spoke with a WL applicant from last year - apparently they harrass ppl for financial aid even if they give the WL or R post-II. At least I won't get my hopes up too much!

Ik the website says no later than March 26th the decisions will come out, but does anyone know if this last wave of decisions will come out in a batch or if some people will receive decisions earlier?

I interviewed on one of the last days and at check out they said we would all hear back on March 26th. No earlier and no later

How do we receive decisions from JHU? All email or do As get calls or…?

what do you mean by "harass"? As in if someone gets off the WL, they would not receive as much financial aid?

I think what they were trying to say is that Hopkins will “harass” you to fill out financial aid info post-interview even if you get WL or R later. I guess this person thought getting financial aid application reminders suggested you were going to get accepted when decisions came out.

Yes, this was exactly what I meant lol. I wonder if there will be as many As in this upcoming 3/26 release date... technically they should have given enough As for the upcoming class. I'm not sure if many people will reject the A since its tuition free under 300k.

That’s my worry as well. The only people I see rejecting are if they make too much money for the scholarships so it doesn’t matter where they go, if people have a full COA paid elsewhere and Hopkins only gives them tuition, or if they’re choosing between other top schools and are getting the same aid from them.

Anyone know anything about decisions tomorrow? What time do A calls usually come out, are WL/R emails sent at the same time or after all the calls?

Edit: Checked the last batch of decisions. They all seem to have come out at the exact same time ~11:30AM EST. However, not sure if they were all emails or whether any calls were made.

It was an email telling you to check portal

So folks… how are we surviving this wait? 😅 I’m certainly struggling. Thinking of yall!

Heads up, I was WL in the previous wave and never got an email -- I only knew to check my portal because people in this thread said that decisions were out. YMMV maybe they'll email everyone this time around.

The portal has changed twice in the past week... like the additional info blurb on the bottom is all gone now. So nervous....

how many people are placed on the waitlist....? and how many get off usually. I know this year will be different though probably.

MSAR just gives a generic “it varies by cycle” answer.

Edit: it also says 25 people get off the waitlist.

Wow. If jhu gives you an interview and you don't get in anywhere that's how you know the system is really messing up. Hoping your WLs all turn into As.

plss what is waitlist movement like. should i take this as a rejection

I feel like it's hard to say for this year. Last year, I was told by current students that they overenrolled & thus no one was accepted off the waitlist. I was told this year (during my interview day) that they wanted to actually utilize the waitlist. Hope some of us WL folks hear good news in April/May!
