Does anyone know if you are required to go to the Thursday informational session?
 
Is NYU going to have more waves of II? Trying to decide if I should submit a secondary lol
 
Does anyone know if NYU is still doing the "interactive group activity" on interview day? The website says it is part of the interview, takes about an hour, and is a team-based exercise facilitated by NYU staff. But my interview schedule only has a welcome, 1:25 for MMI interviews, and then closing remarks.

Safe to say most schools will follow it. The fact that deadline still exists and hasn't been done away with likely means there's a reason for it.

Yes, however NYU has already sent acceptances this cycle according to their Dean and CycleTrack. They also violated the rule last year, albeit only by a few days instead of a few weeks. Several schools I’ve interviewed at have also implied they will be unofficially letting us know before the 15th (a way to get around an actual violation).

You can't trust cycletrack. Some may just be putting false data in to screw with us.

According to my friend who interviewed there, Dean Rivera outright said he would start calling people at the end of last week (which is what CycleTrack reports)!

Two commenters earlier in this thread reported Dean Rivera saying the same thing in their info session.

Also interviewed here and can confirm
 
They will notify but wont send a letter until 15th. If you dont have a letter, its not official.
 
It seems like NYU has “rigid” and few interviews waves. Is this common compared to past years and does anyone know how many waves they have?

From what I can tell from previous years, there's still hope. Seems like a majority of acceptances are off of the CR list, and we could potentially hear anytime between now and early Jan.
