Hi! Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get your secondary application invite after submitting the AACOMAS application?

Reminder: PREview is NOW RECOMMENDED but not required.

A couple cycles ago, I submitted 7/14 and received a secondary invite 7/19. They have pretty quick turnarounds with everything.

OOS secondary received, does anyone know the difference between both campus choices?

Awesome! Would you all mind sharing the secondary question prompts?

Primary submitted 6/12/24
OOS secondary received, 6/18/24

My suggestion is reach out to people from both campuses if you can. There’s positives to both sides, but class-wise, it won’t matter. It’s the same exact classes either in-person or transmitted to the other campus, depending on where the professor is lecturing from that day.

Speaking as a Tahlequah student, I’d say this campus is a small one, so you get to know everyone (staff, faculty, students, etc…) there fairly quickly and easily. Despite the small campus, there are plenty of study spaces always available. There’s probably other things I’m leaving out, but those are a couple that come to mind right now.

I wish I could tell you the upsides to Tulsa as well, but I haven’t spent a lot of time on that campus yet to really give you a good answer. Hope this at least partially helps!

Application marked complete: 6/25/24
Secondary received: 6/17/24

Here's hoping to an II soon 🙂

Is anyone else waiting for their letters to be classified? It shows the letters are received but haven't been classified as "faculty" letters.

It takes a while. I can’t recall exactly how long it took, but I think my letters took several weeks to get sorted. I applied in August (much later than you), and I want to say they were done by October. I eventually got an interview in January, so don’t stress the year will go by in a blink I promise.

Yeah same! I just got notified that my app was completed today but now I have to register for Preview so hopping it doesn't hold back my timeline too much. I'm just gonna do it due to the whole "if it's recommended, it's basically required" statements I've been hearing.

How was it?
Kind of a pointless test, I kept reading online about how you "cannot study" and I could not disagree more. Obviously I am n = 1, but if I had spent even a week studying for this test, I could have gotten either an 8 or 9. Instead, I scored 5/9. The test is not logic-based at all and is entirely based on a formula that you must master and memorize. I contend that if you use common sense on this test, you will do average.

So, it's not really what they advertise? My understanding is it was a decision based test.

my confirmation email for my secondary said they would call to schedule an interview, is that how they're doing it now? what would happen if i miss the call or something like that?

Yes, someone will call you, and if you miss it they leave a message. It's really not a big deal to miss the call. Just promptly return the call.

Kind of strange that no-one has announced an interview yet, with the exception of the post related to someone's friend getting an II. It seems late compared to last year, at least.

Do we have to do the Preview exam? I know it is recommended but this is the first year OSU-COM is doing Preview so idk if it will hurt me if I score badly.
I spoke with Nicole the other day, and she said that because it is a new test OSU-COM doesn't really look into it. According to her it is mostly for compiling data to determine is OSU-COM will require it in the future. Take that with a grain of salt, if you will.

I told them I was planning on taking the preview (I was already complete at this point). I'm a bit stressed that they won't not look at my app until I take it in September 😢

Just email them. They're super responsive and very nice. I would ask if the preview will hold up your application, they'll either say yes or no.

Submitted Secondary 6/25 and LORs by July 3rd. One LOR is marked Received, and one is marked awaiting still, although all other schools have it. Should I email admissions?

If your other applications show it as received, I would email. Are the other schools through AACOMAS of AAMC? That could be making a difference as well.

Only AACOMAS. Pretty much only school having issues with getting finalized besides 1 other. I had emailed VCOM about it and they said they were just busy so I figured it was same for other schools. I will reach out though, almost been 2 months. Wasn’t sure if others had the same issue.

im from ohio, is it worth flying over and touring the school?
If you're truly interested, I would. One it's nice to see the campus and facilities. Two, getting to meet some of the staff and other students lets you get a feel for if this school is going to be right for you.
