2024-2025 Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
im from ohio, is it worth flying over and touring the school?
I agree with what the other user said. One of the things that a lot of people point to when asked why they decide to go to OSU over others is the culture amongst students and faculty. Definitely worth a visit!

Just got an in state A only to the Talequah location (I chose no preference on secondary)! I have the option to forfeit my acceptance and be put on the Tulsa waitlist. I interviewed 9/3.

OOS (border state) complete in mid July and still haven’t heard anything…. I guess no news is good news right now
Previous cycle- last IIs went out end of March, last interview date was 4/16/24, and at least one applicant off the WL was accepted at the end of July for current class.

Be patient! We’re just getting started!

Know just how you feel. But a lot of the other DO schools are pretty quiet right now too, we probably just need to wait a month or so before we start seeing some traction with them.

I think here in the next two weeks we'll be hearing updates. All MCAT scores for September are coming out October 1, so I suspect they may be waiting for a few people's scores.

I submitted mid July and I just got this email… anybody else?

Not op but no
This is a long process. Being patient is hard. If you have any additional information that would help admissions make a decision about your application, I encourage you to write an update letter and submit it to the director of admissions.

I did the other day, but thank you! Good advice!

I got a complete email on Sep 30, do we know how long it takes for II?
Depends on your stats and where you rank accordingly. Last year, some ppl received an II within two weeks of completion but others waited several weeks to months.

OSU COM has A LOT of movement in the spring and even into summer. Patience friend!! And post if you get an II!! Good luck to you!

I submitted back in June and have heard nothing, is this an R?

Does anyone know if they'll accept a letter from a D.O. as one of the faculty letters?

I submitted my primary last week, received secondaries the day after, and just submitted today!

I would assume no, but email Nicole with the Admissions Office. She’s very helpful for questions like these!

Does anyone know if this school is OOS-friendly? Should I still proceed with their secondaries?
The majority of accepted applicants are from Oklahoma, but if you fit their mission - a desire to serve rural/underserved populations - definitely apply!

im OOS and submitted the secondary as a long shot knowing they are not very OOS friendly, you miss every shot you dont take, but i would go into it knowing that they really want OOS to have strong ties to really be considered
