Did anyone who submitted before 7/17 still not get an II or R? Maybe that means they are re-reviewing apps up to 7/17 rn

I think that might be the case -- based on admit.org, all Rs have gone to folks who completed the Pitt secondary before 7/14

How are you calculating that? There is no way they are almost done with the interview process in August, even if they do move quick

With UPitt being so liberal with the pre-II Rs, if you submitted and didn't yet receive an R, you have every reason to stay optimistic.

I've been multiplying stuff on CycleTrack by 6 using Michigan as a guide since they post their numbers. That would put total invites from Pitt at about 360. They sent 1020 last year.

Based on last years forum, many mid and late July folks received Pre-II R's in the late September rejection wave. Also seemed to be some II's sent during September, but mostly from late August or even September applicants.

I submitted my secondary on 8/8/22, not sure exactly when I was complete because I had a letter writer submit pretty late. I think I was complete around 8/24/22 cause that’s when almost every other school emailed saying I was complete

Current Pitt Med student here. Try to relax, I know multiple people who are current Pitt students who submitted in September and October. It is still early!

Also, PSA- get off SDN lol. I wasted dozens of hours sitting on these forums last year trying to gain some knowledge that would give me an edge, or something. In the end, I only wasted my time. Your time is valuable and fleeting. Better to do things you enjoy and that will make you better future doctors than to look for patterns on these premed forums <3 good luck

For those who have uploaded photos for their interviews, do you know how to delete a previous upload and submit a new one? I am in the portal right now and accidentally uploaded a different photo than I would like to submit. However, I cannot figure out how to delete that photo and submit a new one. I assume it is an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it out lol! To clarify, this is before I submitted or confirmed an interview date. I did not submit anything officially yet. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I would recommend emailing the admissions team to see if they can clear your current portrait upload for the new one.

I have yet to hear back from them but recently had a paper published in a high impact journal. Should I shoot my shot and update them now for the best chance at an II or wait considering their statement?

Chill! I felt like mine was too short so my answers were a bit rushed but both of my interviewers were lovely. I also super recommend hanging out in the waiting room and chatting with your fellow interviewees 🙂

Just a little info: They mentioned in today’s interview session that they had more applicants than previous years. One of the deans mentioned 11.5K apps and only interviewing about 750.

No idea. Idk if a T20 school would even do yield protection. I have great extracurriculars, research, and I'm URM so I guess it's possible, but I like to think that it's just a regular case of gatekeepers gonna gatekeep.

This is the proof that medical school admissions are a random crapshoot. Sorry, it happened to you. How has this cycle been going for you otherwise?
