2024-2025 Roseman

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This week will be my 6th week of waiting so I am not sure but I figured it wouldn't hurt to email them after the 6 weeks have passed for an update. Doesn't seem like it will be a good outcome though.
Yeah I would email. Doesn’t hurt.

Does anyone know the CTE date? Trying to decide when to withdraw from the waitlists I am on....

my admissions counselor said if you know what school you definitely want to attend, choose your school on april 30th with commit to enroll and take yourself off of consideration everywhere, including waitlists. If you do not know which school you definitely want to attend, select plan to enroll and remain on your waitlists (but this still narrows you down to only one school).

edit: oh you mean for roseman. I would just select plan to enroll on the 30th

Hey all, I just found that CycleTrack now has a page for Roseman! If you feel comfortable sharing info, let's try to make this data set as comprehensive as possible for future applicants 🙂

What type of grading system and curriculum does this place have? Internal rankings, nbme exams, p/f, AOA requirements, clerkship grading system, etc

For those that got the acceptance call, does it say "Roseman COM" or anything like that? Or is it just a number?

Question for yall - did you get any email confirmation that your thank you notes were sent after the interview? It’s been a week or so since mine and idk if they just never saw my letters. I feel like their adcom team is small so I don’t want to add on to the work burden

No confirmation for me. I vaguely remember them saying they won't send confirmations for thank you notes

I did not send any thank you notes and got an acceptance so I would not sweat it either way!

For those who interviewed, how long was the pre-interview session? I need to let work know asap how much time I need off. Thanks 🙂

It was about 1 hour long! I definitely saw people call in from work so you should be fine.

Okay got it! Were people in professional dress? Or did you see people calling in scrubs?
Definitely in a collared shirt at the very least. I also took the call from work and brought a button down shirt and blazer to wear. But was wearing my scrub pants lol. I think you’ll be fine! Just make sure you’re in a quiet spot because we had to talk a bit (introduce ourselves and also if you want to ask any questions)

Okay thank you so much for your help! I emailed them but haven’t heard back and have to adjust my work schedule asap. If my pre-interview is at 9, would it be reasonable to have my first patient back at 10:15?

I would say 10:30 just to be safer but you know yourself best!

Question for everyone since this is a new school what would happen to the curriculum if the school does not pass and not able to find you 3rd and 4th year rotations. Is everyone then going to have to find their own?

They do have clerkships figured out. It's just that they don't have home residency programs.

Both Unlv and Unr students are fighting for these spots that being hosted by UMC and Mountainview hospital already. Which other hospital will be hosting the clerkships? One of the 3rd year at UNLV are telling people that UNLV students are chosen to perform procedures while UNR students are standing to observe. Has anyone asked specifically which hospitals will be providing clerkships. That is worrisome —it says majority of the hospitals — but doesn’t state specifically which one as they need to gather teams to head these programs. And working in the hospital, I have not heard of any new sites that medical students from Roseman will be rotating through. Not to cause alarm but this is pretty important.
There was a 3rd year medical student from Kentucky that was scrambling to find a physician that would take him on in Las Vegas. I guess that program does not find spots for you.

Now I'm starting to get worried 😭

^ also where’d you hear this?

^ where’d you hear this, because wouldn’t it be pretty bad for UNR to allow this to happen? + w/no change implemented. If true, this has pretty negative implications for UNR alum during their residencies, no?

Apologies, just trying to understand the situation better.

is it too late to apply to this school for this cycle? i had them on my radar last year but was completely unaware that they opened their application

maybe call the admissions office to ask if the class is looking likely to be filled at this time, and self assess to see if you are competitive based on mission fit and stats

There’s nothing on MSAR for stats so I don’t really have a basis to judge myself from. But from what I’ve heard newer schools offer a better chance for reinventors with lower stats (such as me). Is there any info available about what stats are good enough for them?

During the info sessions, they were pretty vague tbh and said “apply when you feel academically ready” or something.

For reference, I got an interview with a 508 MCAT. Hope this helps.

Seeing as the interview season is well under way for Roseman, definitely would reach out to admissions to ask if the class is close to being filled before submitting an application and secondary. Although I’d suspect people are going to turn down a Roseman A if they get off the WL at other MD schools in the weeks to come, so also another thing to keep in mind.

thank you that definitely helps because i have the same score! i understand their interview season is very scrunched just because of timing, but can you speak at all about how quickly they were moving with your updates or if they've started waitlisting yet? i can't imagine it would be long before they start doing so considering how new of a school they are and how little time remains

Some people got an interview invite quickly — you can see earlier posts to see an estimated turnaround time. I waited about 1 month for a II. So far, some people have reported A’s at around 2 weeks post-interview, but they tell us at the interview that decisions are released 4-6 weeks later. Some people have been waiting for 4-6 weeks (or longer) and haven’t heard back yet about their interview decision, from what I understand.

My guess is that they’re doing some expedited cross-comparisons for the interviewees that haven’t heard back yet
