Did anyone get asked any questions relating to how RWJ and NJMS are merging?
Probably not. I certainly didn't. Their official stance is that it won't affect any of us until our 4th year. According to Dean Heinrich at an info session, at best, a seal representing both schools would be included on our diplomas, but there would not be any other significant changes that would affect people matriculating our cycle.

Does any NJMS member know if they actually confirm work and activities section. I’m worried cuz there was a change in staff for one of my things and they may not be able to corroborate

Question-why are the student interviews optional and are they highly recommended? Registered in case but was just curious

Also the earliest info session is literally a month after my interview...is that ok?

For people who have interviewed already (I interviewed August 15) was the student interview option always available? I don't remember having an option to schedule one, but now when I go back into my portal I see one. Thanks!

Does anyone know how the interviews are here? Open file, MMI ? I just got an instate interview for next week and am super worried haha

Open file, 1 on 1, an interview with a professor and there is an option to do a student interview. They are pretty chill, don't stress too much
not OP but I have my interview today so this is great to hear! Any curveballs that you felt they threw at you or all pretty standard stuff?

IMO my interviewer sort of just went item by item on my primary and asked about them to get the ball rolling but then it was pretty conversational towards the end! i recommend that you just approach it as a casual get-to-know-you discussion and as a way for them to verify that you are who you say you are haha

yeah I thought my interview was fantastic

Anyone who’s had a student interview: does it typically go a full hour the same way the faculty interviews here seem to? Thanks!!

Anyone had student interview that give me an idea what is like and how long it is as I have it today after my faculty interview!

It's ~30 minutes! Very chill. I do believe they have access to your file but I can't be 100% sure

Just got told they have an opening for my student interview! ... today .... at 3:30... during my working hours ... like what lmao

I would call out from work and do it if i were you😂
I am already at work lol, got the email at 10 am. Just going into a conference room and doing the interview here. Its informal so I don't think that really matters

Anyone know if when you attend the Dean's meeting affects your decision date? (A,Waitlist,R)

I am wondering the same

I was ED so things may be a bit different but after reading above I had my deans session prior to my interview and my interview date was after someone else’s in this sub. However, they had their dean session like a week after my interview. I got my acceptance about a week prior to them getting theirs. I hope that helps and didn’t sound too confusing.

oh wow okay :/ that’s annoying I had my deans meeting a week later also

I have my dean session next week, anything to prepare for at all! Is it one on one with dean or with the group.
Nope just be ready to talk about your hobbies a little bit. But it genuinely has no impact on ur admission. It’s a group of like 20 applicants and the dean then a Q and A with med students

Is the website down for anyone right now? I think their certificate expired today.

Anyone else interview early September in here? Decisions start sending out October 15 or 16 right?

Did anyone received email early this morning that the dean session is cancelled for today for those who scheduled for today?
yeah I did, don't know what to make of that? Did they send two different links so they canceled one, or is the entire event canceled?

I am not sure but since did not receive email directly from the admission team not sure to believe it or not if canceled. If is actually cancelled, then I think they will email details from admission team that the event is cancelled, may be wait little and see if we get an email from admission.
looks like we got our answer lol

What is the deal with the student interview? Is it helpful? Is it the sort of thing that is actually mandatory even though its technically optional?
