Long School of Medicine does not employ written secondary essays, so we won't post prompts here as we do for other schools.

1. Long wants you to take CASPer and Duet, but they do not look at those results until AFTER you have interviewed.

2. If you are invited for an interview, Long will then send you a link to also do a one-way video on the SparkHire platform.
Complete this videotaping before the date you selected for your LIVE (Zoom) interview.

Hello all! I am a rising MS2 here and I am so excited to have an opportunity to help you all during the cycle with insights into the school. Two years ago I was in your shoes. It’s completely natural to feel nervous and excited, but always remember that the cycle is long and full of twists and turns. I hope to be able to help where I can! I’ve had a great time at Long and I hope you will as well if your cycle ends with you here.

Hi Kit10! Thanks for your help. Do you have any idea when Long begins reviewing applications and sending out interview invites? With them not having a secondary application, I'm just not sure how the timing is different if at all.

Last year their first interview invitation was July 31.

Yes you still have to do the SparkHire questions, you will get details about it soon.
Only people invited to interview need to do them, and they would like you to have it completed before your remote interview day.

Does anybody know what type of interview LSOM will be doing, or if they are intentionally keeping it vague?

It will be two one on one interviews, each about 30 minutes, remote if it follows the previous year's patterns

Confirming that this is what I see on my portal as well -- there are a lot of presentations and chances for Q&A as well. Really excited!
 
is long literally just interviewing based on how high the mcat for each student was 💀 some of my buddies haven't gotten invites with strong EC's but a few guys with weaker EC's but high mcats i know got an invite

Yes, that is typically how Long does their interviews (high stat first priority) because they do not have a secondary application for those strong ECs to gain much life in writing.
 
For anyone who's completed the standardized one way video interview (SOWVI), any info about # of questions? It only says it'll take ~14 minutes.

Has anyone registered for the event of UT Long Luncheon? The Choose Your Date in the portal does not have dates to select.

That's gonna come later after there have been several interview days.
If they don't email you to remind, check the portal once every 1-2 weeks.

Just wanted to reiterate this point here ^. I'm current student at Long who is also an interviewer. There aren't any "gotcha" questions and we pride ourselves on our welcoming/friendly atmosphere! The interview is just a way for us to get to know you better.

Also re: the interview format - we have two 1-on-1 interviews that are about 20 mins each. One is usually with a faculty member and the other is with a current student.

If anyone has any specific questions about life at Long I'd be happy to answer them!

I can't comment on specific admissions committee policies since I am not involved in helping decide which students to interview. However, I will say that there is no one specific "stat" or "score" that will grant an automatic interview invite. I would assume holistic review is used at most, if not all medical schools.
 
Any idea when typically the second rounds of II will be sent out? I submitted my secondary early august, since I didnt get verified like the last week of July, and got my secondary shortly after.
 
From watching multiple threads, it seems like schools haven’t sent many invites after the first wave. Am I the only one?
