2024-2025 Wake Forest

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Take this FWIW but I heard from a friend who goes there that they do not have a ranked WL (except anyone who didn't upload a letter of interest is not in the same general batch they will initially look at to fill a spot that has been turned down). I also was reminded that they are well aware of which WL applicants do not show a PTE for elsewhere, so basically letters of intent don't sway them anyway.

*EDITED to avoid any possible confusion. 🙂
So does this mean they prioritize applicants who don't have a PTE anywhere? I was required to PTE to keep a seat in another school so I dont know if this is a fair way to discern who is actually interested. I dont want to lose my seat but WF is still my #1

See I thought the opposite where it could mean that they know that certain students would HAVE to take them if they do not have a seat, which means they would prioritize students who already currently have a PtE

Interesting view! I would think that schools yield protect their A's to get the class full to their desired amount. If anyone knows how it works please share lolololol

All I was sharing was that obviously admissions know on April 30 who has PTE somewhere. I would never tell anyone not to send a letter of intent if they want to but those letters are not legally binding anyway and schools know anyone still staying on their WLs wants a spot. Definitely do what you think is best for you. Good luck! 🙂

I think many did, the FB group has 16 new people added this week
Has anyone heard if they have basically now filled all the spots at both campuses now? Losing hope here, unfortunately

I just read on Reddit post that someone actually received a call last Wednesday, so maybe it’s just all random?

It was a mother explaining her daughter’s acceptance and they called last Wednesday she said with offer off of waitlist! I’ve attached a screenshot.

It is graduation week at most schools just so everyone has some context on why there might not be any news this week.

I am once again asking for the group me link (plz I’ve been admitted since October)

Yes and based on the GroupMe numbers that were sent earlier on this thread it seems there's a decent amount of spots left.
But there are also probably plenty of accepted people for Winston-Salem who don't even know about, care about or have the GroupMe (like Backwall25 - sorry I don't know it fwiw). Charlotte GroupMe is nearly as big as the total spots there.

They sent out an email a while back to all admitted students that contained the link to the Facebook page. On the page they have the GroupMe.

Also you're not missing much lol. Pretty sure all the important info will be covered during orientation. Also not many people interact there. The Facebook group has all you need

EDIT: I stand corrected, I see 2 of our fellow students just got in! Congratulations!

Perhaps Wake Forest is waiting for May 15th (AMCAS CTE general deadline) to pass, before further extending waitlist offers? Wake Forest's own CTE deadline is in late June, which affords them the luxury of picking and choosing whoever off the waitlist. Correct me if I'm wrong on this assumption.

Also hello ya'll! Former lurker here, I'm like many of you, just a fellow pre-med stuck in waitlist purgatory. I really did like the idea of joining the Charlotte campus though...it'd be a shame not to get in after going through the multi-MMI 2 part interview + CASPER + multiple secondaries XD.

Would it perhaps be a bad or good idea to send another letter to WF at this time, or do we think they've got a pretty good selection of candidates already planned? I'd hate to come off to the committee as pandering.
