2025-2026 Emory Secondary Essay Prompts:
1) List your entire curriculum plan for the 2025-2026 academic year. If you are not in school, please briefly describe your plans for the coming year (200 words)

2) Briefly describe your health-related experiences. Be sure to include important experiences that are in your AMCAS application, as well as any recent experiences (200 words)

3) Briefly describe your interest in Emory and the Emory degree program you have selected (200 words)

4) Emory School of Medicine is committed to recruiting and educating medical students who will help deliver quality health care and will promote the health of our patients. In our community, this includes learning about and addressing the health care needs of our most under-served populations. Please describe any of your activities that have been in service to under-served communities (200 words)

5) If you have any updates or new information to report since you have submitted your AMCAS primary application, please briefly describe below (200 words)

Applicants often have confusion or issues about payment for the secondary.
Do this after paying: After you pay, hit "Continue" on the bottom of the page instead of the "Return to SOM admissions page" or whatever it says at the top to complete that page of the application.

Good luck to all applying!

Emory screens for 124+ on subsection as per their website but idk if they do any further screening?

Has anyone received interview invitations for secondaries yet?
Nobody has listed secondaries yet. People have already posted in this thread asking for it, so you do not need to do so again. Interview invitations are also separate from secondaries and often abbreviated II.

+1 OOS secondary

I sent in 5 LORs due to the MSAR max being 5. However, I see on their website that they encorage no more than 3. Should I email apologizing for exceeding the "recommended" even though the MSAR is inaccurate??

I'm sure someone more experienced should chime in but to me that would come off as a bit neurotic.

If it makes you feel any better, I did the same. On their website they say "You may submit additional letters of recommendation, but keep in mind that the Admissions Committee may not be able to read an excessive amount of letters. Please limit additional letters to just a few".

Personally, I'd consider two to be "a few". Obviously I don't know how they interpret it, but I don't think you need to email them.

does anyone know if more rounds of secondaries will go out for people who had a verified primary before june 27th ? I am well above the MCAT cut off for the pre-screen but didn't receive a secondary today.

I wouldn’t worry. I’ve heard that everything Emory does is 100% completed by real people and not computers, they probably just haven’t gotten to you yet. I would honestly give them until next Wednesday or Friday before I started worrying.

Cool, thanks!

Question regarding the first prompt, plans for current year (200 words)- should this be a bulleted list or descriptive paragraph?

received!

Has anyone else had a problem with payment? I paid and then went back to the application portal, but it is still marked as incomplete, despite receiving an email stating that my payment was processed.

I ended up seeing this on last year's thread after encountering the problem, so just wanted others to avoid my mistake..
After you pay, hit "Continue" on the bottom of the page instead of the "Return to SOM admissions page" or whatever it says at the top to complete that page of the application. I hit the top button the first time and waited like 3 days for it to confirm and it never did . . . :-(

I also made the mistake of hitting the top button too. Can I ask if you got it fixed yet and how you did it? I emailed Emory about it this morning but haven't heard back yet and I'd really like to avoid paying it a second time and then trying to get a refund for the first charge if possible.

does anyone know if biochemistry fulfills the general chemistry requirement? i go to a quarter-system school and my two quarters of gen chem + a quarter of lab don't add up to the required credit amount after conversion lol

I just paid again and clicked the bottom button, and the page was instantly completed. I got an email from Emory the next day that they saw I had two payments and were processing a refund that day. So unfortunately, I think you have to repay, but they are very helpful in getting your money back!

Did you figure out what you could do with this? I plan on just adding my AP Chem credit that I received, but it doesn't specifically say that I got AP chem credit on my transcript. Any advice?

Thank you! Emory responded to my email, took them about a day and a half. They fixed my portal and now it shows that I paid. I forwarded them the email confirming my payment with the confirmation number. So this is also an option that works!
