To upcoming applicants, this school has a very lengthy screening process PRIOR TO WHICH your application is even considered for interview.
They also do not send Pre-II Rs until well after April 30th of the following year and have incredibly poor communication.

The secondary will likely become available mid-July, and I HIGHLY recommend prioritizing this school over others for timeliness as they are very slow. For example, I submitted my secondary mid-August, and it finished preliminary screening in the middle of NOVEMBER, after which they told me I had met basic requirements and was under consideration for an interview invitation. In other words, if you don't submit this secondary by mid-to-late July, you could risk not even being considered for an interview well until November or December, so please be proactive. I would venture to say that unless you have connections to the school or are a New Jersey local, and you haven't submitted this secondary by the third week of July, don't even waste your time on it. The secondary also involves 3 500-word prompts. Best of luck y'all!

Are secondary prompts usually the same? Would prewriting be worth?

Do they require Casper for interview consideration?

Just want to give you all a heads up, this school is incredibly slow and disrespectful to applicants. You might want to think twice about applying. Was waitlisted and eventually rejected on the first day of orientation. They kept my life in limbo for 4 months. Was also interviewed very late in the MD cycle (in March). Please save yourself from the disorganization and disrespect that this schools subjects you to before submitting your secondaries.

+1 OOS Secondary @chilly_md

Each 500 words

1) Why are you interested in attending the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine?

2) Describe a time when you engaged with a perspective, culture, or experience different from your own. What did you learn, and how did it influence your personal or professional development?

3) Describe your experience with the field of medicine (or a related field) that has prepared you for advanced study in this area. Specifically, how have your life experiences prepared you to pursue a degree in medicine, including: coursework, clinical work, experiences in overcoming adversity, work opportunity, volunteer activities, and/or research experiences?

Per previous post I think we should get this done asap

Thank you! Do you know the character/word limit?

When did you submit your primary/secondary materials?

Yea, especially if it’s true that they take a long time and prioritize earlier submissions.
Did you take Casper & Duet yet? I took Capser this past Sunday, so my results should get to them in a week. But I saw somewhere that if you submit Duet the result gets expedited? Not sure how true that is, maybe I totally read it wrong. I have my secondaries written out already I just need those scores to arrive to the school.

Yea I took them in early June!

Question for people who are getting secondaries right now, are your Casper/Duet scores in and when did you submit primary?

Sent secondaries a week and a half after release. Didn’t interview until March, after calling and checking to see what application status was. They are incredibly slow. Don’t waste your time, save your money and apply elsewhere!

is the payment not working for anyone? i paid the fee & received a receipt but it still says 'incomplete' on my app.
