Did anyone receive an email from the school asking you to clarify which colleges you were applying to so that they could direct you to the appropriate admissions team? It's not a reply to any of my emails and it's from the office of admissions for the medical college. Are they asking which campuses I am applying to or is this about dual degrees? Least to say, a bit unorthodox. If anyone is able to provide any clarification that would be great! Otherwise I will obviously just reach out to the school

Hey guys! I’m an out-of-state applicant from Texas but I have ties to Oklahoma. My mom grew up there and went to OSU. My family still lives there so I frequently visit. My stats match the average for OU. I was just wondering if I have a good shot here? Not trying to be a pick me, this last cycle just did not turn out well and trying to see if it’s worth a shot to apply since I’m out-of-state.

They are definitely all over OOS applicants nowadays. Go for it.

+OOS, all I'm seeing is "What interested you in the OU College of Medicine? (Please provide an essay-style response) 500 words" plus their supplemental school checklist that's a separate link @wysdoc

Are the questions on the Questions and OK Ties the same for you? Idk if there is a glitch or something

When 1 or 2 of you can confirm the complete secondary questions I can pin them in the top post.

It looks like OU has some (completely optional) virtual Q & A sessions often for applicants, registration required, registration on the page linked below.
From their web page: OU Admissions process
The OU College of Medicine Office of Admissions aims to support prospective students throughout the admissions application process. See below for a variety of opportunities to learn more about our program and the application process, as well as get answers to any additional questions you may have.

  • 1-on-1 Advising: held virtually on Monday afternoons. Speak with admissions and get all your specific questions answered.
  • Group Information Sessions: held virtually once a month from 3-4 PM CST. We offer general information on our campus, course prerequisites, medical experience, application timeline, and what we look for in competitive applicants.

There are two educational tracks at OU, please take the time to read about them so you can make a considered choice.
OU Educational tracks

What are they going to fix specifically? Do you mean there are other prompts besides the "why us" one that they are going to add?
There was another tab that showed up as “OK Ties” but it wouldn’t let you access it. I wasn’t able to submit my application till it was fixed since it thought I hadn’t completed the other tab.

But it’s fixed now!

Can confirm it’s just the why OU question that @cupcakeliberty1 wrote!
