Chance of getting into Temple?

Hey everyone,

I'm taking the DAT for the first time on Wednesday. I took a practice DAT about 8 months ago and only scored a 16 on it. The OC section was what brought me down so much because I hadn't really learned anything yet.

I'm really looking into applying to Temple in the fall. (Along with a bunch of other schools, but Temple is my dream school). My GPA is ~3.3 and my science GPA is around there, too. I have 2 publications in 2 different scientific journals with my name on them and I have 3 alumni from Temple writing me letter of recommendations. I also have 200+ hours shadowing/interning. If I bring my DAT score up by another 3-4 points, do you think I'll get into Temple?

I think that if you brought your DAT score up a couple points like you said, you should have a solid chance at getting in.

Hi, this is for a Temple student. I am applying to Temple for Fall 2013. I wanted to know how you like Temple and Philadelphia, in general? I have heard it's a high crime-rate area, wanted to knwo from someone who lived there.

Also, what do you like best about Temple and what do you think can improve?

safety wise: i had the same concern, but after being there for a year, its not bad at all. Everything is on the main street, broad street, which has great security. Plenty of dental students also study at the med school library( 2 blocks away from the Dental school) until 9-11pm. Temple is also amazing, they ease you into the curriculum(which is great). Most students live about 10-20 min away from the school, in either center city of the suburbs(manayunk/roxborough).
