All moved in! Well, all my stuff is in the apartment. Unpacking, organizing, and decorating are a whole new ball game. :laugh: Cat doesn't seem to care though, she's crawling all over all the boxes in the living room. 🙂 Glad I have 2 and a half weeks to settle in before orientation!

Getting excited about moving to Massachusetts on Monday. I mini-moved from St. Louis, MO (where I did my post-bacc) to Rochester, NY (home base) a month ago, so I don't really have to worry about packing. That's a wonderful feeling. 😎

I have many landlords to call, though. I always live alone and refuse to do any paperwork before seeing an apartment in person, so I stay a few nights in a hotel while I tour places of interest. It's kind of fun to do. And the landlords are usually pretty happy about having someone who wants to move in ASAP.
 
A few months ago I couldn't wait for school to start. Now I think it's coming way too fast!

I'm leaving in a week and a half, and I haven't at ALL started packing, or even coming up with any lists. I guess that'll be my weekend project >.<
 
I still have SOOO much to pack/sort through.... and our anatomy professor sent us a bunch of reading and online assignments. Summer is officially over now 🙁
 
Packed up most of the truck tonight. Most things from my apartment were still packed in the garage, so that was good. Now just last minute things to grab and pack from my room. It's getting so real now...

Haha, oh good. I looked at the suggested page after reading the email and thought I learned most of that in UG anatomy anyway. Might just need a quick refresher.

On a side note, 2 of the other 3 apartments on my floor are moving out this weekend. Not sure how long it takes for them to clean and whatnot, but maybe I'll get some classmates as neighbors! I know a good number of people are planning on living here.
 
I am sooo tired! Moved into my new place yesterday. I still have some unpacking to do, but I have enough done for now to be comfortable. The internet was installed this morning, yipppee! My parents just pulled out of the driveway so it's just me until Monday when my first roomie arrives (Rainheart) . 😀

Save any stuff you have left and I'll definitely help you unpack when I get there. I assume we should be there early Monday since I want to have the whole day to unpack and do stuff. Things seem to have gone mostly well 🙂

Pretty much all of my goodbyes happened in May at graduation (and far more permanently than I would have liked. 🙁). I'm not really that worried about saying goodbye to my immediate house-family; I'll be much closer at an hour away and with a car than when I was at undergrad in NY.

I am going to a goodbye party in a couple of days for a HS friend who's starting grad school in Alabama, though, so I'll probably have some more tears there.
 
Moving tomorrow! I've been pretty good about not crying. We'll set how tomorrow goes saying goodbye to my parents and sister. We're all very close, but it's not forever!
Actually really excited though. My best friend is driving out with me so hopefully it will be pretty fun.
 
I'm so jealous of all of you who are moving to your new digs soon! I can't move into our condo until Aug 19 (hopefully they can get it ready by Aug 17 so we can have the weekend to move in) but I have our orientation/camping trip starting Aug 14. Soooo stressful cause I'm going to have a ton of stuff living in my car until we can move in. Plus the poor cat has to go to boarding (which he loathes and tries to eat people who get near him, myself included) for 4-5 days before move-in. BUT, the condo is AMAZING and so worth it.... I hope anyway. Lol, maybe this should have gone in the rant thread 😛

Oh wow! We start classes on Aug 19th!


Today's moving update- today was my first full day on my own! I went grocery shopping, and finished unpacking my suitcases.. Now I just have to put my shoes away and my jackets/ hoodies.. Then I have to figure out what to do with all my school supplies/ books... My bookcase and desk wouldn't fit in the Uhaul 🙁 so I guess I need to go find new ones.. My first roomie moves in tomorrow so I'm pretty excited about that! I need to sort out the rest of my fin. Aid though.. For some reason one of my loans is still pending.. I could've sworn I already did the MPN for it.. That's my #1 priority tomorrow, besides helping my roomie move in!

I can help you look at your loan stuff, too, since all of mine went through the other day.
And I think we are going to try to go to a good-will or something to find some shelves. I still need to get shelves, too!

But yes we are here in Missouri! VERY long trip yesterday but I am SO pround of how well Beamer did in the car for over 16 hours (let me say... men need to stop too much).

Move in will begin this morning sometime after we are all showered and ready to go.
 
Feeling lonely today. 🙁 Roomie and her boyfriend went home last night, Fiance went back to work (6+ hours away) last night with the dog, Aunt & uncle are busy today. Guess todays the day to get stuff done, explore the area a bit, and visit the grandparents. I just dont like the apartment being so quiet apart from my rats dragging boxes around their cage:laugh:
 
Just got back from Europe! It's going to be a crazy few weeks though. I have to be in Auburn on the 12th. I have a wedding this weekend in California, then I have less than a week to get my stuff together! I can't leave until the 10th so the whole family will arrive on the 11th and help me move in. Cutting it close!

I loved my 3 non-educational years in Columbus and hope to return for 4 more 😀 Hope you enjoy it.
 
Made it to Missouri! We were planning on doing the trip in 3 days (it's a 22 ish hour drive) since we had the cats. We stopped at my aunt and uncle's in PA after a 7 hour drive and just decided to blast through the rest of it today. Only the last hour was painful, the rest of it was awesome. Probably helps that my best friend drove out with me and we sang at the top of our lungs most of the time. The kitties deserve medals for their behavior. One is 10mo and the other is 4mo and they slept nearly the entire time. I'm a proud momma!

Watching this thread has made me curious, so I checked out what I was doing at this time and what I had posted in the 2016 thread....

I had just moved to Edinburgh, found a flat and I was finally on my own (my mother came with me at first but she had left). So this day a year ago for me, I was alone in a flat in a different country starting vet school in 5 days... It was terrifying, but everything worked out... 🙂

I just dropped my mom and her fiancee off at the airport 🙁 My dad is coming out to visit this weekend and then I won't see them for a while. Sadness.

I was making plans last night and suddenly realized I only have about two weeks left too. 😱

When I look at the pictures of my new apartment (haven't seen it in person yet), I get really excited to move in. Then I remember that I'll be leaving home, family, boyfriend, pets, etc behind and will only be able to come back a few times a year and I get really sad. It's confusing.
 
I gave notice at my office job today. I was terrified telling them since I thought they would be mad at me for leaving them when they are already understaffed. Everyone was incredibly supportive and happy for me - how can it only be 2 more weeks until I move??
 
Last day of work is tomorrow! Work had a lunch for me and got me a stethoscope and a da**it doll that you are apparently suppose to beat the crap out of when you are angry/frustrated. Can't believe orientation starts in 2 weeks!
 
Just got back from a 2 week vacation / moving adventure with my fiance. Completely forgot about school and that pretty soon it'll be back to the grinding wheel 🙁

Now I feel like there is so much I need to do to get ready. School starts in less than a month now and moving on August 17th! yikes!
 
I'm almost in California! Just one more flight and I'll be there! I can't believe I'm actually moving across the country to start vet school! Five more days until orientation 😱
 
Orientation in 10 days.. Get married in 15 days.. Start class in 18 days. 😱
