Class of 2017.... how you doin?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
We only have midterms and finals =/

Ditto. Although we do have a small 5% assessment this weekend to gauge how well we're doing with studying/learning everything which I think is an awesome idea. Is it weird to be excited for a test? Yes. Yes it is.

just gotta make it to friday at 1.. then on to week 4. we can do it!!!

And Friday at 530 we have 4 hours of open bar. I plan on taking full advantage. The only thing getting me through this week!

Very sad I'm working the football game Saturday.. I'm gonna have to take it easy Friday night 🙁

It's mah birfday. My big plans include having a studyparty for the Physio quiz tomorrow. And my weekend plans include having multiple studyparties for the anatomy and physio exams next week. Who said I wasn't a party animal?

Happy B-day, tropic! Hope you at least do something enjoyable, even if it is only for an hour.

I totally know how you feel. My bday always falls in the middle of midterms in vet school, so if I want to do anything fun, I have to do it lik two weeks in advance.

Had a fabulous time at the zoo today! Getting up close with the seals was the best part...It reminded me of how much I wanted to be a marine mammal biologist when I was small. 😍

1st Vet school exam today was a success.... minus the extremely loud drilling that was going on somewhere in the building that could be heard in the computer lab.. I was aggravated by that to say the least, and I had ear plugs in!!

Tomorrow is our first written and practical anatomy exams.... feeling good about the practical, the written not so much. We shall see how it goes!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! It ended up being a good one....we studied to get ready for the quizzes, then had Chinese and cake and watched a movie. I'll just hibernate this weekend to get ready for the exams next week.

Written and practical anatomy exams coming down the pike this morning. I think i'm going to be ok for the practical, but written is going to bone me hard. So hard.

The first home football game is tomorrow, which is apparently going to mess with parking for today since they start towing cars at 5. I still have no clue where I'm supposed to park. And I guess I won't be going to the school tomorrow to study for my two exams next week...

I felt ready for the test today so instead of studying last night I watched Life of Pi and gorged myself on leftovers from the surgery club meeting. 2.5 hours until exam time. I regret nothing.

Manage to survive the anatomy exams today. The practical wasn't bad at all! The written part... well, no one did well on that. Just glad for this week to be over!

I'm worried I'm not studying enough, but I'm not too worried about these two exams and I think I know the stuff pretty well...

Same. Im trying so hard to study molecular biology but its so hard because I've taken SERVERAL classes about this subject. Granted they were three years ago so I need to refresh. I keep asking myself what the hell the pre-reqs were for because its all the same stuff.

Thanks, yo.

And according to the posted answer key, if I'm remembering what I wrote correctly, I only missed 2 out of 50. Even if my memory is off a bit, surely I got an A at least, so I'll take it 😀
I think I missed 8/45 on mine, but I could have forgot some stuff on mine too. 🙁 Teach me your studying secrets.

That's still a decent mark! The class average for practical midterms and finals was around 45/60 at AVC last year

ky is right, jestry. That is still a good score. Remember, C= DVM. Just gotta pass! Don't compare yourself to others. I hate when people talk about their grades...it just creates more stress..

Ugg Molecular Biology... I've studied this stuff so much all ready Im just so over it. I'm hoping my past knowledge of it will help with questions that I'm not 100% on and allow me to answer via process of elimination.

Molecular test Monday, Histology quiz Tuesday, and Anatomy exam Friday.

That schedule was lupin and I last week! I was exhausted by the weekend.

No sick! You may not rear your ugly head when I have histo written and practical early this week. Boo.

I thought I was just getting a cold, but now I'm about t-minus 15 minutes from barf town.

I hope you feel better by tomorrow. I hope I'm not coming down with what you have.

Yeah, my bad. Didn't mean to be that person, just overly excited since it was the first exam.

No no, totally wasn't trying to make you feel bad or anything. With all sincerity, congrats on doing awesome! I wasn't really that upset about my score either, considering my mentality going in was "I'm not going to ace it, but I'm not going to fail either". Definitely figured out what to focus more on next time. :]

I was more trying to pick up super secret study tips so I too could watch a movie before all my tests, and still get A's. Not in a competitive way, but in a how can I be a better student way, if that makes sense. I mean, none of my classes are curved anymore, so there are theoretically enough A's to go around for everyone. I guess time travel isn't a real option though. 🙁

Very pleased that I don't have any exams this week, except for the normal 10 question quiz in Phys I. I don't really count those though. I can just study in peace without thinking "That is going to definitely be on the test...So is that, and that. Know everything!"

grr... just took a a histology quiz. I did fine so its really not a big deal, but he picked one cell to point out that was debatable whether it was prophase or metaphase and I chose the wrong one. I debated forever too, not like I didn't know it- I just couldn't decide between the two.

Exams in four weeks! Slightly jealous of those of you doing some now, slightly not.

Today is gonna be a LOOONG day! Micro exam at 7:20... then anatomy lecture, 3 hr anatomy lab, hr lunch, then 3 more hours of lecture for micro, cell bio and physio.. Have to take a physio quiz by 10 PM and study for a micro practical which is tomorrow. .. Soo tired, and the day is just starting!

This just made me so thankful that anatomy labs are the last thing of the day for us.

I'm sitting outside the auditorium waiting for the lab portion of our cell bio exam...why didn't they do that first so we could just leave when we finish? Also, why couldn't we start the exam at like 10 instead of leaving in the middle of the day? Not sure how many people are going to come back for anatomy with 3 hours in between...

I had a meltdown last night over physio. I will never understand it in the detail we are required to understand it.

You'll get there, promise. I know it seems impossible... Let me know if I can help in any way!
