Class of 2020... how you doin?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I always thought it must be a regional thing, but the non-bean crew seems to be from all over the place
It must be somewhat regional, because I have never in my life encountered chili without beans, and the idea of it is sacrilegious. 😛

I prefer chili with beans, but I wouldn't refuse chili without. My mom makes it with beans, but I've seen/had it both ways.

Speaking of delicious things, I made the lentil curry soup for lunches this week. OMG, so good.
Did I tell you to cut some lentils out and add a can of chickpeas? If not, do that next time.

But yesssss it's so freaking good. I just ate the last bowl from my pot for lunch and I want more.

Ooh what lentil curry soup? I looove lentil soup (I'm eating it right now!) and can always use another recipe.

I actually was thinking about throwing a can of chickpeas in! Cause chickpeas just make curry better.

I think that was about the thought process when I first made it that way, haha. That and I can't follow a recipe to save my soul.

Same! By some miracle the only thing I changed when I made this was a lot more spinach haha

So, how does Cincinnati chili fit in? Because, you don't have to get it with beans. But, you can get it with beans. BUT, and this is the best part, it has a secret ingredient that may be cinnamon, or it may be cocoa powder. Who knows?

Man, all this chili talk makes me wish I was still an Excel jockey in Cincy instead of a miserable student. ;-)

I have delicious meatless chili with beans, LOTS AND LOTS OF BEANS, for dinner this week. Mmmm
