I knew you were bad, but not this bad 😛How have you known me this long and not realized this?I am the worst procrastinator that I've ever met
Yes lolI knew you were bad, but not this bad 😛
Oh wait, you were the one who turned in VMCAS like an hour before it was due, weren't you? How did I forget this![]()
You've already finished Letterkenny, are you rewatching all of Letterkenny??? I dearly hope it's with company!Open House most of the day yesterday
Required drinking with friends
Necropsy lab this morning
Filming for our infectious disease project
3 hour nap
And then tonight I've been working on a short presentation while watching Letterkenny
See, very busy 😉
Yes, hubz is watching! You've already finished Letterkenny, are you rewatching all of Letterkenny??? I dearly hope it's with company!
17 done! Probably enough for today.
Are you able to get a copy of the notes or whatever (what do PhD level courses even use to teach?) to help yourself out?Just determined that there's no physical way for me to take an immunology course before I have to do my preliminary exams for this PhD, which is potentially a problem since a big part of this project is immuno-related.
Hmpfh. Self-teaching, here I come.
I'm glad you made it through!!!Add us to the list of third year classes who are done lecture forever 😀 When I went on medical leave in the fall of 2015 there was a prof who sat down with me, looked me in the eye, and told me not to try to come back... that I would never make it and should set my sights lower. I thought it was fitting that he taught our last ever lecture. Point made, and it was very satisfying!
31 modules done
Though I just realized the total count did not include the FEMA portion, which is apparently the worst/most time consuming part 😢
I have three more days...

I don't remember having to do anything FEMA related. Interesting31 modules done

It's to allow us to get DART certified but that isn't required so I'm not sure why the FEMA modules are. Anyway, those are the only thing I have left now 😀I don't remember having to do anything FEMA related. Interesting
Yeah, on one hand I'm nervous I'll be totally lost not being here that first week, but I definitely don't envy my classmates going straight from our last final on Friday to white coat Sunday to clinics Monday.I didn’t even request vacation during that time and was annoyed at first about using some up so soon, but I’m over school and need it haha
I'm sure you'll be fine! 🙂 And by then all your friends will have a better idea of what's going on, so you can ask them 😛Yeah, on one hand I'm nervous I'll be totally lost not being here that first week, but I definitely don't envy my classmates going straight from our last final on Friday to white coat Sunday to clinics Monday.
Day 1 of clinics was great. I hope this bright eyed bushy tailed feeling lasts for a while.
Where in CA?I think my parents' offer to host people in my class who are doing externships in California was actually a sneaky plan for them to adopt all of my friends. It seems to be working.
definitely one of the hardest aspects of being a vet is that we love the pets, but they despise us. hahaWeek 1 is done and I'm sad because I really love this rotation.
My friend's cat tried to stress me out yesterday by being an absolute nightmare patient, but it's all good. Got done what we needed to get done, she went home and was still drunk from her drugs and it was adorable. Hopefully she doesn't hate me now.
As long as you utilize the bit of time you are forced to care, it is all good. Gotta enjoy those moments of defiance about what awaits. hahaI’ve definitely gone to see Avengers:Endgame 3 times instead of studying for finals. I can’t find it in me to care much
Definitely how I feel after finishing my first rotation 😀Finished with week 1 of clinics and I gotta say, it's been a great start. I'm a big fan of the rotation I'm on, the clinicians are absolutely wonderful and brilliant humans, and I have a great group of rotation mates.
The end of 3rd year burn out and frustration with the lecture hall life was very real. This week helped me remember why I love this profession.
Second thisRotations start tomorrow... send help![]()
I've done a whole 1 spay, so I don't have a lot of experience to draw upon. I also had to redo my intradermal sutures (almost twice) and I know how it can really take the wind out of your sails. We aren't all perfect yet, and it takes time to get your skills built up. You've still got over half your rotation to keep improving and become proficient. It’s been a rough week. First my dog on Sunday with the emergency foreign bodies. Then this morning I ran out of gas on the way to school. And then I’m on week 2/4 of spay/neuter elective and I’m just not doing so great. I’m probably being real hard on myself but I have had to have my skin sutures cut out and revised by someone twice this week alone. I keep making careless mistakes and my brain is just not in it. I have a day off tomorrow so maybe that will help reset my mind. -_-
I’m sorry it’s been a tough week 🙁 I agree with teep, it takes time to build up those skills. I bet the next two weeks two weeks will go better after you’ve had some time to recharge 🙂It’s been a rough week. First my dog on Sunday with the emergency foreign bodies. Already have to cross off the first thing on my signature. 😢 Real first day of clinics is tomorrow! It should be a relatively chill week, but I'm still nervous I'll look like an idiot.
