It's also a ghost town here. Like no one is here. (I work as a lab manager and tech in the Vet Research Tower for my gap year.)

It might've just been that no one on SDN got any calls until you did, who knows... so exciting though!
 
Does anyone know how many people are accepted each year?

Sorry y'all, should have asked more questions while on the phone (like when they started calling, if they're calling tomorrow too etc), kinda started freaking out. This is a reach for me, didn't think I'd get in.

Don't apologize! I would've freaked out too, especially since 5 minutes before we came to the conclusion that they weren't calling today haha

Hi all! I'm super new to SDN, as in literally 1 minute old. I've been skimming these pages unsure of whether or not I wanted to make an account. I'm glad I did so now I can engage with you all!

I received my OOS acceptance call for Cornell at around 10:00AM so I don't think they do IS first. Cornell is my top choice and I am over the moon/in disbelief and waiting for them to call back any minute telling me it was a mistake LOL.

Thanks Antsy! Hmm, that's one theory although both my first and last name fall towards the end of the alphabet. For all we know it could be totally random. Since several people are calling it could be as simple as whoever has the other piles has decided that they aren't going to start their calls until later in the day. Don't give up hope folks!
 
For those of y'all who have found out and for sure are going with Cornell, are you canceling any other interviews?

I have a couple in the next 10 days (one this Saturday), but Cornell is my IS and first choice, and probably the cheapest option. I read on other forums that it's unprofessional to cancel so last minute, but I have no intent on going anywhere else because Cornell is my dream school. It seems awful and disingenuous to take an interview spot, but I don't want to be rude since it's so last minute.

Although your cancellation notice would be later than ideal, I can't imagine adcomm being upset about a candidate who is not likely to attend backing out because they've been matched with their dream school. Even with short notice, your cancellation might open opportunity up for someone who has that exact institution as their number one/dream school

That's what I was thinking, I've been waitlisted for other programs before and it sucks so much. Don't want to do that to someone else, but don't want to do something that's going to be viewed as unprofessional

I don’t think so, the portal for everyone (excluding the glitch) was updated on the 5 with the official letters went out thru the portal. They also caught the glitch pretty quick from what i remember

Yeah I’m kinda losing hope right now haha. Luckily I have more interviews at other schools this cycle so fingers crossed! And there’s still a chance to get on the waitlist for Cornell if we don’t get a call

That's a great point. 3 of my good friends were put on Cornell's waitlist and all 3 of them currently go there. Even if you don't get a call, there is still hope!
 
Does anyone know if the calls are going to be coming out the whole day or just at one part of the day? >< lol I had a dream last night that I got rejected from cornell so I already have a feelingg
