I was arrested all the charges were dropped, but their are pictures of my mugshot on the internet. Do admissions teams do google searches on applicants? Thanks

I cannot claim no admissions would ever google applicants, so my guess is that only some do. There was a SDN article a long time ago about a guy not being accepted, apparently because of his unprofessional Facebook group and etc.

N=1, but for the majority of schools, they are busy enough with other applicants and probably won't google.

If the image comes up in the google search there is a protocol for taking it down through google. I had to do this for old myspace photos haha

I wouldn't be surprised if they do for smaller pools, like whichever committee selects whom to award scholarships from among the pool of accepted candidates.

I am not very knowledgeable about computer so Iv never heard of a protocol to remove pictures. Could you please explain more to me about this protocol? Thanks

I think it's pretty common. I know I've had it happen at two schools I've interviewed at.

Not quite the same as your situation but I know for a fact that my interviewer Google searched me. He knew things about me that were absolutely not on my application.

One of my interviewers admitted she google'd me after she saw I had done some prominent artistic work. It wasn't a big deal. Another school's IP address showed up on my portfolio site tracking statistics so I know they googled my name.
