I also think it's a tie between Zenge and beans for who picked the most decoy items. Which is impressive they both managed to rng getting a decoy as an option so much and impressive that they kept picking the item that matched the flavour of the weird item goat despite it not panning out multiple times

There were originally 27 items in the game and a new decoy was added every night but only used for the night cycle it matched the flavour
Plus the items tot chat made, but those only went to the mayors.

They never made it to the spreadsheet or in the rng so I blocked them from my mind hahaha

The rng machine really got a work out this game. After it took me like two hours to sign all the items the first night I think I cried a lil hahaha

I survived driving to and from my first emergency! Congrats to village, and thank you to my amazing pack mates for dealing with my antics, and the ethical dilemma of if vig shooting PSV was bussing (it is not, it’s just murder which is a-ok in my book) now please hold while I find my laptop and post my special meme from wolf chat

No

There wasn't a specific item. We had RNGed the pack in advance, we just wrote their conversion as getting a bad deal on their festival tickets and getting so mad they decided to burn Gruffendale to the ground.
So basically what I said, then hmmyes

Good game and congrats to Beans and Lissa. Pretty clear I'm not a fit here with the way things are done so see yas
Yes, games can feel unbalanced when mechanics are being decided after the game begins and when words like “converted” are misused (from my perspective) which can change how people solve. That can just be a clash of playstyle/game running style though as it’s hard to know what is or isn’t expected/allowed in these games, at least from my pov being newer to this forum.

However, moderators that are biased and/or confirm things they shouldn’t confirm because they’re using the game thread to hang out with their friends instead of staying impartial felt like a bit of a step over the line. (If anyone noticed, a mod basically confirmed in game that an alive player was town a couple day cycles ago)

I recommend mods reflect on their biases when running games. Impartiality is vital for games like this so maybe don’t run a game if a person you can’t stay objective with is on the playerlist or if you are running a game, possibly ask them to spectate or run it with you instead of being a player. What seems to happen (from my perspective) it that you will focus much more on how that person is playing, being viewed by others, etc and it’s clear that you don’t hold those same protective values for others. When two players’ alignments became obvious (maybe not to everyone but it shouldn’t matter who caught it and who didn’t) because of the way a mod reacted to them or to others commenting on them, I’d say that’s probably not something anyone wants happening. I’m not saying it was intentional; I fully believe it was unintentional but it still happened. So for the future, I hope this is taken into account and steps are taken to be more careful in that regard for fairness to all players.

It was kinda fun while it lasted but the way these games are run, it’s just not my cup of tea. I do prefer more balanced setups and more impartiality in terms of moderating. I also believe the cliquey behavior here makes it hard to play as an outsider coming in with mafia experience as opposed to new players that have never played. But I’m glad to see how welcomed novice players are treated as they do seem to be treated very nicely and that’s great to see. I can tell everyone here means well in that regard.

Good game to everyone involved. Thanks for the setup and moderating, and thanks to everyone playing for the dedication to the game. Even if I don’t agree with how some things are done, I won’t discount the amount of time and effort being spent putting the games together, running them, and playing them - especially for those with such demanding professional lives. (aka - all of you)

Thank you for having me for these past 3 games. I wish you all luck with your lives and doctor things, you’re all extremely impressive people and your work is very much appreciated. This is just a game and it doesn’t affect who we are as people, so I hope none of this is taken personally as it’s not intended to be so in any way. This is just one person’s perspective.

And with that, I’ll say goodbye. 💜

Damn I thought of another mechanics question but SAR probably went to bed

I want to know if the mp3 player was theoretically a one night effect or permanent (even though we know now it wouldn't have mattered since there were no additional conversions)

I gotta say, I really appreciate the convenience of nighttime closes that comes with 24/24, but writing a writeup every day is VERY TIRING
I was reflecting on this and how 12/12 used to be a thing and I just ???? HOW

That train of thought led me back to the first game I modded, and I guess I've just always loved ties

Awards for most pleasing to the mods go to:
@brightimpressio @Ashgirl and @Cyndia for creating lovely ties 😀
The results of the ties were predetermined as follows:
1st: No deaths
2nd: Death for the tied players and the one who created the tie
3rd: Death to the one who created the tie

Due to role abilities, the 2nd tie happened to end in no deaths. That was pretty awesome.

Beyonce Goodbye GIF

I was the goat tongue that MLEMs and the stale jelly bean of the cherry flavor and the toemato spelled just like that.
Jay!

I read your post on being a better kinder player. And tried to put it into action here. It’s part of why I never jumped down anyone’s throat
:heckyeah:

The kind of unwelcoming cliquey **** being talked about btw. Level of disrespect if shown to the ingroup would result in conniptions but as its shown to someone moderation doesnt like very much you know you'll get away with it
I know you weren't here yet but KJQ seems to have forgotten how much the moderators stepped in when things got heated during her first game here. I have personally stepped in multiple times on other occasions when long time players were overstepping.

If a person keeps tossing insults wherever they can at how we run games, how we design games, how we play games, etc it should not come as a surprise when people don't continue to welcome them. Adding "but don't take it personally" to a diatribe doesn't make it not personal. If you don't like it here, it is fine. Just leave. No one is forcing you to stay. No one is forcing you to hang around to see if you got the last word.

I’m sorry but all she did in dead chat was complain that no one is fair here because we know each other. How unfair it was zenge defended me when he was village reading me because of cliques. And this is the tail end of 3 games I’ve observed and she has complained about how every single one was ran. I don’t think that’s fair to the mods who have put in a lot of effort in designing games. It was said multiple times this game was unusual and not standard mechanics. She signed up anyway. And still whining about the balance.

I think we tend to be very welcoming to new people. We’ve had a fair number of new people across the last few games.

She obviously doesn’t like it here, you obviously don’t like it here - just leave, I’m tired of playing nice with people who clearly think everything is a personal slight to them. It’s not a train station - no need to announce your departure.

You can also have a gif.
Going Pitch Perfect GIF

I’ll stop now out of respect for the mods and people I play with here, but I hope you all have more luck on your next site.

You all tapped me for being too rough in that game and were defending her and telling me to stop it lol

I took it to heart and have tried to be a nicer player in this game across the board.

Okay I was not expecting this when I clicked reply so I could see the broken gif and my brain short circuited for a moment trying to figure out how it could be a red panda

I have no qualms about threadbanning people post-game, so DO NOT make me do it.

I'll remind people that I actively discouraged people from signing up for this game if they did not like nonstandard mechanics. Anyone who chose to do so and then did not enjoy the game because of the mechanics, that's on you, fam.

I have addressed privately with some players that some other sites with more standardized games might be more what they're looking for in their Mafia experiences, and have provided suggestions on a site I personally have played on, so can speak to, that might be a better fit (mainly MU - The Syndicate is also a great site, but I've not personally played there myself and my understanding is that they do not necessarily adhere to a more standard setup). For those who have grievances about their experience on SDN, sorry, but I hope you are able to find what you're looking for elsewhere and wish you the best in your Mafia journey 😊

If this line of discussion continues, I will remove thread access for the people involved, so knock it off.

Item:

A single stale jellybean of the cherry flavor.

I have distributed this item to the mayors. One of them chose to eat it.

The other one tried to throw it at samac's head.

Can you guess which mayor did which action?

mkg ate the jellybean, because trash panda.
vampy tried to throw the jellybean, because she likes doing caps lock things.

I'll need SAR to confirm since I wrote flavor for the items without knowing what or if they actually did anything, but I don't believe the mp3 actually did anything at all because all the conversions happened N0. It just played a clip of "Unbelievable" with the last word changed.

GGoats tradition to have a mention of unconvertableness without any true conversions in the game.

Someone who had played the previous GGoats games actually brought that up on thread at one point, but I don't remember who it was. Maybe samac.

It was me lol

Pepperidge farm remembers how much that paranoia helped us in OG goats

Thank you, I just needed more ammo to fire at @Animal Midwife for lying about it granting her permanent inconvertible (unconvertable?) status
