I remember in OG GGoats, when I watched the NK target and came on thread guns blazing for Cray, who had visited her, but Cray was the other mason, and she and I were GOING AT IT at like 4 am, and then the mods woke up and kd very kindly said in my role PM "I believe you need some clarification on your night result" bc I was still a wee noob and had no idea what I was doing 🤣

It varies by player count and how quickly village/wolves get it
2 weeks is on the longer end though.

In case anyone was wondering just how unlucky I was with my items...a deep dive
N0: tabloid, did nothing
N1: ice cream coupon, told me alllll about vampy's vanillaness
N2: tinder app...did nothing that I could see but I am still wondering if it would have worked if someone else had picked it
N3: pennywhistle, did nothing
N4: red paint, did nothing

So what have I learned from this? Never trust my gut when picking items in a SAR x shorty game

I think it failed bc items decayed after they were used once, so chances of it working were lower, but not zero.

The backstage pass and whatever the pgo item was were both true 1X items, I think

Because you picked it the same night as mkg and rng said that she got the shot and you failed

Technically it could have been used twice but any items with an actual potential effect on the game had a % chance degrading every night (usually 10-25%) and then a bigger jump after successful use. So I think after mkg got the successful "use" the odds of you using it successfully were already at like 50%. And rng was not in your favour

The tinder app was actually a permanent neighborizer but two people had to pick it the same night. Any time it rng'ed into a list, I arbitrarily added two others to other items lists to give it a shot at working but the stars never aligned. It was designed to be hard to trigger because it could have had a large sway on the game if activated

Ok, I'm back to being curious about whether every item already had an action determined before I wrote their flavors, or if the flavor guided any of them.

To provide some context for @beans2020, @vampyrica, and @Lissarae06, Zenge considers the deepest betrayal in SDN history to be a time when I fake-slipped on thread that I was a lover, and then he, as a wolf, NKed me hoping for a 2 for 1 special, and in the process, discovered I was actually a bomb (not a lover) and took him down with me when I died.

It's been 4 years and he's still mad about it.

They all already had actions before you wrote flavour haha. I actually made the actions first, then came up with an item I thought could fit it without being obvious, then had you write the flavour

Don't ask me why I decided to go with this as a lie. It was something about being back in Texas air.

Also the fake backstage pass wasn't just a vig shot, it was a vig shot that worked if used on a wolf but if used on a villager the shooter died instead

I laughed when wolves got it because that's some luck right there

I'd like to say mkg wouldn't have shot me if we could've shot a villager, but heck, we might've done this same play regardless of the gun mechanics. Who knows.

Yeah when I say "12/12 used to be a thing" I mean "I used to run 12/12 games wtf"

Noob games tend to go long because of roster size, and unlike the old 40 player games where we built in a lot of extra death, we don't tend to want to mow the noobs down too early
