GlobetWWotting: Food Edition - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why? I know you said for vote-reciprocation but why if you aren't going to leave it?
Does anyone actually have strong feelings about their day one votes? Maybe it's just me being new, but I don't tend to take my day one votes very seriously until we start getting close to vote close. (Go look at how I voted at the beginning of the last couple games)

I guess if I needed to pull out a reason? The way she burst onto the thread and voted for me without any kind of reasoning or clarification feels a little weird? I'm not upset by it or anything, but it's reminiscent enough of previous wolf behavior that I don't feel guilty/bad about voting for her.

I wouldn't say I have strong feelings about my day one votes, and I know you've previously expressed frustration at feeling like there isn't enough information to find a wolf day one so it isn't all that important. I get that. The reason I asked is because I personally just don't think it's necessary to put a vote out there at this point, considering vote close isn't until tomorrow night. I see you were I guess trying to drum up conversation due to what AM said. It just felt a little strange but I don't think different from your normal strange.

Yeah, I normally wouldn't vote this early but the thread is feeling kind of quiet and I guess I have a bit of a "AM *must* be village, I should listen to her" reflex that I might need to work on 😂

Is there a reason not to put a vote out early?

My knee-jerk reaction is "AM has to be wolfing at some point, may as well assume it's now!!" even though she never acts any different, apparently.

I mean, no, because you can always change it. I just don't really see the point of it if you aren't serious. Like, why vote at all?
I'm not super bothered by it.
Well, it's already generated a discussion

I suppose so.
I'm thinking 3ish wolves is reasonable for a game of this size.
What's the rule of thumb supposed to be? Like 20%?

Also, I'm curious- in a basics game, what kind of spread of powers should we expect from a wolf pack? In my small sample size I've seen a lot of strongarms, for example.

(Also let me know if this kind of discussion is not productive or pro village)

20-25% depending on all the other factors. Basics has kind of a wide interpretation. It can mean anything from minimal role abilities at all (so the game is mostly vanilla) to still a fair number of abilities but nothing to complex. Wolves could still have various abilities. The most basic of basic games (before you get into mountainous territory) would be like, one or two village PRs and no wolf PRs.

Will the wolves like to chime in and let us know if they have PRs or not? Just to satisfy my curiosity 🥰

i’ve been a bit bored on this drive so i’ve been tinfoiling about roles and i thought maybe the wolves are like… rotten foods? my first thought was evil food but then that didn’t make sense to me because what food is evil? spicy food? i guess dairy-based food is evil to lactose intolerant people 🤣

PRs are not something that can ever be estimated without evidence of ability and goes into tinfoil territory. The only thing you can safely assume about a basics game is at least the majority of wolves and majority of villagers will be vanilla.

I was wondering this as well, but I wasn't sure if kay/dina/shorts would slap me for speculating.
I was pondering if they might be poisonous foods, like... eel or something. All I can think of is death by pufferfish in the Sims 4.

i will not take it back! spicy food is evil to me!!!!! i put ranch on everythinggggggg hahaha
I also put ranch on many things because it is lovely (inb4 Zenge angery), but spice is yum! Maybe it is your taste buds that are evil, for not allowing you to enjoy the spice.

alright i can accept this hahaha maybe i’m the problem

I wonder if I listed rule #13 in its own post instead of in a rules post that none of you animals read anyway, if that would be the key to getting people to believe that we mean it
I almost brought it up but then, I figured she was just doing a fun thought experiment vs actually trying to solve with roles. The latter would be silly.

Well, what Ive learned in the last 15 posts or so is that my vote is placed correctly and Im going to have to disown my daughter. Unless the spice gene just skips a generation? That would explain @SportPonies as well.
There were about three jalapenos each in the pho Stoaty and I had for lunch, so I think it's safe to say that we are firmly in the "spice is morally good" camp 😍

Now I know how to get Dubz in my pocket, I will simply keep many tasty peppers in there
