Ive heard th eNJ schools are good for us residents since they only interview us but then I heard htat makes them harder to get into at the same time?

Is this true or am I significantly more favored to get into NJ just by being a resident?

My scores are average

state school right?

then theres an advantage of being a resident of NJ..

but i don't follows as to why that'd make it harder for you to get into

it wouldn't make it harder for you to get into actually, since you are only competing against 1 state opposed to the entire country.

this gives you a better applicant pool to compete w/ (meaning not everyone who is applying has a 4.0/35+)

They do interview OOS but give preference to NJ residents. It is easier for an IS to get in than an OOS.

However, NJ only has 2 MD schools and a lot of qualified IS applicants so you still need decent stats. It should be easier in a couple years when UMDNJ adds a 3rd school.

Check out the secondary threads for NJMS and RWJMS for more info.
