I also got accepted for the spring cohort! Email came last night!! (Probably have to defer and hope for the fall because my lease goes until September!)
Keep in mind a deferral holds your seat for spring and takes you out of consideration for the fall. Deferrals are for one academic year and basically consider you as the "next cohort" so a spring deferral would be for 2029 Silver.

Not to be a bummer but want to be sure you know what a deferral means; if you're on the fence, don't pay now for a silver 28 unless you know you're going to go because it won't hold for blue 28. Hope that makes sense.

To all the accepted, congrats!

Hello there! I applied for the blue cohort, but was invited to an interview in July and was accepted into the silver cohort. Is my application still open for the blue cohort, or will have to have another interview to start in the fall?

So not really. You would have to decline your seat for spring to be put back in the eligible pool for Fall cohort. But your interview is good for both, so you won't have to interview again if you decline your Spring cohort seat.

Congrats everyone!! Maybe we’ll all hear even more good news after the September 30th deadline they set for the first acceptances 🤞

I got my acceptance into the Spring cohort and applied for both Spring/Fall. I might hold off on it since I have paid a lot of money applying to other schools and would like to hear back from them first, and hopefully one of y'all will take my seat. I did apply for both, but I was in a stressed-out state. Imposter syndrome is real my people. Their matriculation fee, that's nonrefundable is 1,250$!

Just got the biggest jumpscare email
Was it the visit one because I was about to post asking if anyone else that hadn’t received an acceptance got it. Like don’t play with me like this 🥲

It is non refundable if you don’t matriculate. If you matriculate, it goes toward tuition.

hey peeps! I turned down my spring spot to be considered for the fall so hope someone hears some good news : )
Congrats on the acceptance! How did you let them know you wanted to be considered for fall instead? Did you just email Holly?

I emailed the cvm admissions email but I think emailing Holly directly would be just as effective

Hi Everyone! I just got my acceptance letter for the Spring Cohort!! I am very excited but I actually don't know that much about their school lol. Does anyone know a lot about them/ what the professors are like? Much appreciated 🙂

I got accepted for Spring Cohort too! Im excited but nervous since this is not my top school and am still deciding on whether to accept or defer. I was also accepted for Ross May 2024. I still want to wait just in case other U.S schools accept me however, if none of them end up accepting me I also don't want Ross to be my only choice if I do decline my seat for LMU in January. Bit of a predicament. Just want to make the right decision.

A someone mentioned before you cannot defer to the fall but deferring to next spring may be a good option for you if you can get approved! I was in a similar situation and decided to put myself back in the pool for fall this cycle if you need anyone to talk to about it!

Rightttt. So basically I either decline in hopes to get in to another U.S school (if I dont get in then I have to go to Ross) or accept and overthink my decision of "what if i got in to another school" :/ If i get an acceptance during that semester I do not know what I would do.... kkchcksckk just want to make the right decision!

omgggg I am in the same predicament except so far I’ve only heard from LMU

May I ask; When is the decision date? For those that received acceptance, did you say that your first choice was Spring? or Both or either?
Decision date for me is oct15 no later than 4:30pm. I interview Mid August and when I applied on VMCAS I chose both spring and fall. However, when i was invited for interview it said spring cohort

Do a cost benefit analysis of the one acceptance verses the other possibles and see what your preferred ranking is - then spend time getting to know the school, program, etc and see how you feel learning at LMU.

The program is great for hands-on learners, and clinical skills start 1st semester. Models, cadavers, and live animals used for learning, and students have 4 surgeries (spay/nueter) at the end of 3rd year; plus 8 surgeries they assist with in 3rd year too.

I have the same october 15 4:30pm. Two weeks notice is kinda rough lol. I said I was interested in both cohorts and my interview invite was for both cohorts

Has anyone heard how many seats have been filled for the Spring cohort so far? I'm still wondering about the timeline for Fall decisions for those that already interviewed.

I know the class is not full yet and it sounds like there are several offers out, so it’s hard to say.

Big mood. I'm having the cases of FOMO :'). Looking at LMU cost per semester it'd be 26,750 without thinking about cost of living/moving. In terms of student loans, I feel like its a drop in a bucket if we gotta pay 214,000 at LMU for all 4 years. If I get into my IS, then I'd be paying 124K tuition plus that 26,750 if I consider LMU for the semester while I wait. Considering my options I think a possibility of paying that additional is kinda worth, but alas I still am khaskashfadfasd.

Also I have my fam's wedding in Feb. and that'll be a week hiatus from classes that I shouldn't miss >.<

With other schools too, since LMU doesn't offer in-state, if you move to another state pay a year of out-of-state tuition then apply for change of state residency to qualify for in-state once you establish 12 months of consecutive residency. Therefore, an example like Iowa State, you pay 60k a year out-of-state, then establish residency then have to pay ~30k per year then-on, which would add up to maybe 150K + 26,750 if you go to LMU for a semester, so it SHOULD be cheaper!

If you don't establish residency in any schools, like if you were to go to Kansas State and not establish residency then it'd be roughly 225K + 26,750 if you go to LMU for a semester, which is like an addtional 10% to your total cost. To me, that doesn't seem too bad cause we'll be drowning in debt either way :'D

Either way, I BELIEVE IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. IF LMU IS YOUR FIRST HECK YEA, YOU WORKED HARD AND YOU WILL PURSUE YOUR DREAMS. IF LMU IS NOT YOUR PRIORITY YOU CAN HOLD IT OUT BECAUSE YOU ARE CAPABLE AND HAVE WORKED TOO HARD TO NOT DESERVE YOUR TOP PICK.

I just wanted to pop on and say it is veryyyyyy hard to qualify for a residency change at most schools if you're actively going to vet school there. Most residency requirements are working at least 30 hrs + not being a full time student at an institution there, ON TOP of the 12 months consecutively. There are some schools that give you in state tuition after a year though (Missouri, Ohio State, North Carolina State, University of California – Davis, and Washington State).

I just wanted to make sure that was't the overall factor here if people are deciding between LMU and other schools. I haven't looked up every single school to determine whether their qualifications are the same as Iowa, but I know it's the same for GA and even NCSU to a point (like they'll give you in-state after a year because that's their policy but you technically wouldn't have met their normal standards of in-state residency---speaking as someone who did have the ability to qualify there for in-state after moving from GA to NC). If you are factoring this idea into your calculations for school I would make sure you contact the admissions/and normally their tuition/financial department to even see if this is a viable option. I've just seen quite a few posts talking about changing residency and how hard it can be to qualify!

^second. Some schools explicitly state they will allow instate tuition after 1 year, but others may “apply for residency” which is not a guarantee. Financial aid or admissions should be able to answer this (both may need to be contacted as different schools have different ways of processing/approving this requests).

And to PostedNoted, some folks may hear back from their IS or dream after starting classes and the decision is ultimately what’s best/preferred at that time. Sometimes cost is enough of a reason, but others may choose based on how curriculum/learning is conducted.

If in doubt, always reach out and get all the information needed to make an informed decision. If you make a decision out of panic, it is far easier to justify frustration at the program aka a skewed logic and uncool mindset. Fear/panic can ultimately taint whatever experience you may actually have with “what ifs” vs what is. If you have significant doubt, decline for fall consideration and wait to hear from more programs.

Whatever is best for you is what you (collective you) should do.

Do we make a portal or do they send instructions with how to make one?

There is only a supplemental application but LMU notifies applicants by email when there is a change to status. The link for it can be found on the CVM requirements to apply.

Congratulations to those who have been accepted 🎉 🥂

I interviewed 9/18 and have not heard anything other than the tour invite 😟. I did put fall only on my application, but, the more I thought about it, I started hoping for a spring acceptance (especially after Holly said they would try to tempt us with the spring cohort lol).

Also, I was thinking about the fall cohort. It seems they only sent 2 rounds of interview invites for spring? They did one spring only, one spring and fall, and just sent fall only, correct? I wonder if they do more rounds of interview for fall, or if fall folks will hear back sooner than expected (assuming they fill the spring class and keep it full)? Or we could not hear anything regarding fall until after January. What’s everyone’s thoughts? 🙂

I combed through the thread from last year and it seems LMU has change a bit from last year. I think they are only offering spring right now. You will more than likely not hear about fall acceptance unitl after the new year. I think they start to follow the standard timeline once spring is full.

Are you looking at your right supplemental app? Mine only lists dates for 2023, but past submitting your supp app for this cycle, they don't update your "portal"
I think so.. when i click the link from vmcas that's where it takes me. I emailed them to ask and they haven't responded (its been a whole business week)

Have classmates who applied after me and received interviews already. Is this a bad sign?

I got an email from Holly. For those who are on the dual spring/fall, we can either let the spring offer expire and be put back into applicant pool for fall, or defer to Spring of 2025. I’m going to defer, and wait to hear back from my other schools.

That’s cool that they’re offering that, deferral seems like a really good option for people that want a safety net but need to hear back from other schools and aren’t dead set on LMU

did you still put down your deposit to be deferred to spring 2025?
