The pre-vet gang is too NICE.
(Well. Except for a few of us.)
The pre-vet gang is too NICE.
I agree with this so much. Multiple candidates instead of everyone piling on one person and then the lynch wagon just hopping from person the person. Gives us more information for future days as well.Yes, I am aware of that. I am hoping to attract additional pressure, as I do not have multiple votes to use. I think it's in our best interest to have more than one leading candidate while lynch deadline is still several hours away, as it puts pressure on more than one person to say something. If Hayley doesn't show up until 30 minutes before deadline with a great defense, and everyone has piled on her, then it's just a scramble to figure out who else to vote for. Maybe the last-minute craziness is unavoidable, but I'm at least trying to think about a way around it.
I have time and energy to dedicate to the villager cause, y'all!
Great. Who do you think is a wolf and why, since you have time and energy.
I mean, a lot of that is a result of having heavily themed games. We generally have role names and abilities that mean something, so leaning on people until they tell them and moving along is a valid tactic. A lazy one, but it works in early game and a lot of them have no huge penalty for revealing roles (beyond giving wolves info to work with for cover). Until we have games that de-emphasize the role side of thing it's going to keep working like that.Meh. I am all in favor of leaning on people - we all know that - but this is PARTLY how we end up with the stupid "omg there are five minutes to go and we don't know who to lynch situations" when everyone piles up on someone, and then that person defends and everyone jumps to someone else, and they defend, etc.
At some point it's better just to decide who you think is scummy and go with it.
The pre-vet gang is too NICE. As soon as someone says "oh please don't lynch me I promise I'm not a wolf" everyone is all "oops! sorry! sorry! *unlynch unlynch unlynch*!"
I'm villager and I'm freaking stoked about my role. Don't lynch me, please.
Plus biochem is over (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I have all next week off from work. I have time and energy to dedicate to the villager cause, y'all!
I will say that the "villager gnome" role name for Hayley seems odd to me at the moment, so I'll be keeping that in the back of my mind.
Caiter said I could change our vote if I had someone better in mind but I'm actually OK with the Kam vote for now. Not a fan of the bandwagon hopping.
Unlynch BBC, lynch PBC
You, excited about a villager role? Weird me out yo.
Not just giving them info to work with for cover, but also for seer hunting. Pressuring people to show up and talk is fine but I don't think the goal should be role reveals.I mean, a lot of that is a result of having heavily themed games. I am also 'villager (magical creature)' so I'm inclined to believe her role claim.
I mean, that one kinda depends on how obvious the seer is based on roles. But I get your point. I guess I just very much understand people leaning to role reveals D1 when there's no chance to point to your past play or anything. 🙂Not just giving them info to work with for cover, but also for seer hunting. Pressuring people to show up and talk is fine but I don't think the goal should be role reveals.
This made me need to go check my role. I knew I was a villager, but couldn't remember how I knew.I figured that was the case (or that there was a wolf gnome out there), which makes me nervous that dubzaiter may not have villager as a prefix....
before Hayley had revealed, I would lay off. But considering we have "villager blah-dee-bloohs," it would stand to reason that we may also have "wolf blooh-dee-blahs." So that's an easy claim to make from either side.I am also 'villager (magical creature)' so I'm inclined to believe her role claim.
Sorry, finn but
Lynch finn
You just stand out as having said the least of those who have posted in my quick read through.
finn seems to have a posting restriction where she has to post in questions maybe?
Agreed. I really, really dislike the players who jump in, vote to lynch someone with no explanation, and bamf out again. That is incredibly not useful. If Finn has some posting restriction, Finn should work around it.
Caveat: Maybe Finn explained her vote and I just didn't see it.
But until hearing otherwise:
lynch finn
Would you guys believe that I actually knew exactly why Finn made the vote she did (and acknowledged it in my response to her)? And that she has been consistent in using that justification for D1 ever since our noob game?Would you believe that nyanko is right? Would you also believe that it gets annoying to phrase everything as a question so I'm saying less than I would like to? Did you know that there are only so many phrases I can attach to beginning of statement to make it a question but still indicate I'm making a statement rather than actually asking? Would you believe it gets repetitive?
Would you believe that I'll work around my posting restriction when I have a reason to do so?
Did you know that my vote was just a typical, beginning of the day random vote? Did you know there is no explanation for it? Did you notice I was the first vote today? Do you realize I had nothing to work with? Don't we have to start somewhere? Did you know 11 is my favorite number and I usually make that my first vote? Would you believe that I often change my vote later in the day as more discussion occurs?
Are you annoyed by my post restriction yet? Do you believe that I am?
Now I'm really really OK with the lynch.Fine, @Trilt. Fine. I have an affinity for items and I'm assuming this means I'll get lots of cool things to play with this game, and this is exciting. I'm not excited about the villager part, I'm excited about the actual role.
I'm a fan of wolf brags, so the lack of one today should tell you all something important.
Nope. 🙂Am I not allowed to be excited for anything not wolf/chaos related?![]()
What do you mean? Why would you wolf brag day one, hours away from lynch when you could still escape said lynch? Wouldn't that be bad wolf play? What is a lack of one supposed to tell us? Does this make sense to anyone else?
I'm actually kind of happy with the PBC lynch right now. If she had popped over and said this:
before Hayley had revealed, I would lay off. But considering we have "villager blah-dee-bloohs," it would stand to reason that we may also have "wolf blooh-dee-blahs." So that's an easy claim to make from either side.
And I just don't think I can get over her being excited about a villager role.
This is an interesting argument, because I've actually never seen a wolf brag from you. Didn't do one in R&M, didn't do one in Favourite Things, didn't do one in A WW About Nothing... all games where you were a wolf.I'm a fan of wolf brags, so the lack of one today should tell you all something important.

Mine got me killed in the noob game and whatever was after. 🙁 I learned I can't be excited about this game on thread because people like to kill joy. I mean, assume you are a wolf.😵I've dug myself into a hole here. I never though my enthusiasm would be so suspect.
This reasoning seems a little off to me. PBC said that after Hayley revealed, yes, but it was in response to what WZ said about Hayley's role reveal sounding sketchy. So by backing up Hayley, PBC made herself sound more sketchy, without knowing whether anyone else had the same wording. I don't think the first part of your reasoning is sound.I'm actually kind of happy with the PBC lynch right now. If she had popped over and said this:

Favorite Things shouldn't count because I intentionally (and very stupidly) revealed myself on the thread in an effort to save Aloha. R&M I was hoping I could get out of lynch. A WW about Nothing was last JULY when I'd played only one or two games before that, and it was my very first time being a wolf.
Genny you're my new WZ.This reasoning seems a little off to me. PBC said that after Hayley revealed, yes, but it was in response to what WZ said about Hayley's role reveal sounding sketchy. You might be right about the enthusiasm, I don't know. If she isn't lynched today, then we've definitely made her a target for wolves. Any role that PBC would get excited about must be able to do something interesting.
Just saying. Don't really love the argument that we'd be seeing a wolf brag out of you when that has simply never been something you've done.
I have no idea if you're actually a wolf. The way this has rolled out just makes me feel funny, and the whole point of this game to to cruelly murder funny feels, right?![]()
