Ah, mistake on my part. I only looked at the PM title. In the first line mine does say "villager [blah blah]".

I will point out that questioning the way a villager PM is worded would be a ******* thing to do as a wolf.
Just in case people missed it because no one who is voting for me responded. In response to @LadyOtheFarm in particular because I think she was the one who pointed it out.

Oh, and our official name is dubzcait I think

My reasoning for continuing to lynch PBC is that I don't buy her being super excited about that ability. And it just reminds me of Trilt in our Noob game which gives me feels.

Do you agree that it is a little weird for dubzcait to suggest "villager ___" sounds sketchy if her role said the same the thing? Do you think that even though she says she was thinking of PM title in her second post that it still seems odd she would forget that word villager was highlighted in her role description?

I'm disappointed you didn't remember the ConsqWWences chaos-brag debacle. That was so much fun.

This reasoning seems a little off to me. PBC said that after Hayley revealed, yes, but it was in response to what WZ said about Hayley's role reveal sounding sketchy. So by backing up Hayley, PBC made herself sound more sketchy, without knowing whether anyone else had the same wording. I don't think the first part of your reasoning is sound.

You might be right about the enthusiasm, I don't know. If she isn't lynched today, then we've definitely made her a target for wolves. Any role that PBC would get excited about must be able to do something interesting.
Logic makes sense to me, assuming there are "wolf blahs" also. Could 100% be wrong.

The whole "oh yeah my role pm said villager too" seems too naive for my liking

I've kind of settled to blocking that game out of my memory. I was very grumpy by the end. 😛

Why should I remember the exact wording of the PM?
LotF said she had to look as well. I basically did the exact same thing, except I though Hayley was referring to her role name so I only looked at the title. I remembered the role name, which is why it seemed odd to me, so I double checked by looking at the PM title. The way it is phrased in the PM, I wouldn't considered "villager" part of the role name, more of a descriptor, and no, I didn't remember the exact phrasing.

Again, it would be really dumb for a wolf to question the wording of villager PMs. It makes no sense to do that.

You make a pretty good point.

Lynch PBC

Lynch AM because I don't agree this is a good point (in fact, I think that PBC was the first to say it on thread is an argument against her being a wolf). But I think "oh yeah I agree" is an easy explanation for a lynch, and one she could bet wouldn't reflect scrutiny back onto her, because it was someone else's reasoning. Can see it as a wolf move.

I'm not an ability thief (which is my all-time most favorite role), but I get items! It's almost the same thing.

You might be right about the enthusiasm, I don't know. If she isn't lynched today, then we've definitely made her a target for wolves. Any role that PBC would get excited about must be able to do something interesting.

What is my play style like that everyone thinks this?

Do you know that I'm referring to the way "villager ____" is highlighted in the PM, not just the fact that it's there?
Do you you know that I don't expect you to remember exact wording? Do you know I'm just suggesting that, given the way it is written, it should have rang enough enough a bell that you would check before suggesting it's sketchy? Did you know I think it's certainly possible you're being honest? But would you believe it just strikes me as odd enough that you seem a better lynch than my other options at the moment?

Do you realize that sometimes wolves do things that don't make sense and then say "a wolf wouldn't do that"?

Did you know I prefer zooters to dubzcait?

I'm sorry you're stuck with a posting restriction, but I love your posts so much.

I'm kind of thinking I might switch to trilt - she seems to be clinging to very flimsy reasoning for her lynches.

This is why I went with AM...I'm more inclined to believe a wolfy Trilt would lay lower than pushing hard for a bad lynch D1. I don't agree with her thinking, but I don't think she would draw so much attention if she didn't believe in her arguments. But to see AM casually jump on board what seems like a flawed argument reads like an effort to blend in.

I could do Zooters but it seems like such a big mistake to make as a wolf, and an unnecessary risk. Why would you bring up something that's potentially villager code being weird if you're a wolf who has no idea what a villager role looks like? Invitation for disaster.

Yes I know what you mean by highlighted, "You are the villager [blah blah]" in bold. Bold on the ability description as well. Even some underlining for emphasis on important parts. I didn't even vote for hayley, just mentioned it seemed odd (not sketchy, just odd), and was waiting to see if there were other roles that were worded that way. Like I said, I did check. I thought she was referring to role name, and if she was it was odd to me because 1) role names aren't usually assigned that way and 2) I didn't remember ours being assigned that way. So I checked the PM title.

I do realize sometimes wolves do things that don't make sense. But what I did here would be a ******* thing for a wolf to do. And I am not a dumb wolf.

I will say that the "villager gnome" role name for Hayley seems odd to me at the moment, so I'll be keeping that in the back of my mind.
Pointing out my exact wording here. I said ROLE NAME. Not description. Because that is what I thought she was referring to.

Either we want this game to be a matter of pushing on someone until they role reveal to someone and back off, or it's a game of paying attention to the way people play, little things they say, and going on feels. I'm playing the latter way, and if that gets me lynched, so be it. Anyone who has modded with me as a wolf knows that I hate it because I feel like I need to be more quiet, to not attract seer attention and bring down the pack - being an aggressive, talkative villager is way more fun.

I know that I have watched PBC A) convert herself, and B) beg to be converted to the non-village side... in multiple games. To revel in non-villager roles. To sit on information about chaos players when she's a villager because she likes that. Because of that, it strikes me as out of character for her to be so excited to be a villager, so I followed that lead.

It has a strong chance of being wrong - it's D1 for Pete's sake - but that's my feels.

this is kind of an aggressive defense for me just thinking about switching.

And in a less smartass response, you're not the only one questioning my logic, so pretend that is a response to everyone wondering why in the world I'm thinking the things I did.
Your logic should definitely be questioned, though. Just sayin.

It's very easy for a wolf to say "nah, my role says x as well." If Hayley is a villager, wolf PBC knows it, therefore saying that she has what could be villager code in her role is a low risk move with good potential reward.

I'm still undecided about PBC, especially in light of what finn has said about there being more to her role, but I do agree with a lot of what Trilt has said.

You guys have made me late. 😛

I have to run, hopefully I'll be on again before lynch closes.

Not feeling either Zooters or PBC, even with Trilt's logic.

Lynch Crayola, because they and mq are the only people who haven't been seen yet, and mq wasn't a wolf last game even though I spent the whole game thinking she was.

For posterity:

PBC is a villager hobgoblin, she can help one player every night, and she's greedy so she has an affinity for items. There ya go.

Ok, but to follow this out - you'd basically be up for lynching PBC in every subsequent game just because she likes non-villager roles. Seems a bit unfair, but that's WW, eh? She said she's excited about this role, not about being a villager.

I can see where you're coming from. But I think I would rather have her looked into tonight, especially if she does something useful.

Nah, I like PBC. I'm not going to jump on her for no reason, and you'd actually see that I put my vote elsewhere earlier when her bandwagon was starting. But when her defense is that we shouldn't lynch her because she's so very stoked about her role and then it's a kinda ehh sounding villager one... it makes my slothy senses tingle. As I've said a bunch of times, chances are I'm wrong... but it feels wrong to me. And it's D1, so I got nada elsewise to work with.

Putting my vote back on WZ because she's closest to me and I want to live to use this role, dammit.

Saying you find fault with Trilt's logic and then lynching me instead because I agree. Makes total sense.

I find fault in Trilt's logic because she's wrong, and I know it. It doesn't mean she's a wolf or that I need to lynch her.

Do you know I still don't know who to vote for though?

Would you believe that I'm leaning towards AM? Do you think it interesting she said "good point" to one of trilt's post that, in my opinion, failed to make a good point? Do you know that I think there are decent reasons to vote for PBC but they weren't in the posted quoted? Do you know I find it interesting that all AM really said in response was a sarcastic "that makes sense" rather than any defense of her decision to vote for PBC following that post?

Would you believe that nyanko is right? Would you also believe that it gets annoying to phrase everything as a question so I'm saying less than I would like to? Did you know that there are only so many phrases I can attach to beginning of statement to make it a question but still indicate I'm making a statement rather than actually asking? Would you believe it gets repetitive?

Would you believe that I'll work around my posting restriction when I have a reason to do so?

Did you know that my vote was just a typical, beginning of the day random vote? Did you know there is no explanation for it? Did you notice I was the first vote today? Do you realize I had nothing to work with? Don't we have to start somewhere? Did you know 11 is my favorite number and I usually make that my first vote? Would you believe that I often change my vote later in the day as more discussion occurs?

Are you annoyed by my post restriction yet? Do you believe that I am?

I would have a hard time with this posting restriction because I read the tone of voice as really accusatory even though the only difference is that there's an upward inflection, haha.
