Magical WW Signups and Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Btw - I only brought it up twice (after YOU brought it up, btw) and the second time was to justify my vote other than simple self preservation.

I agree fun is inportant, but I also want the village to win even if I die.
I brought it up in justifying why I thought it was weird that she was excited for what sounds like a lame villager role, not as a reason to lynch her. But yes, yes, I get your point. It's a good point. Just felt a little forced at first.

Still reeling (well, only the mods) over the loss of their Troll, the residents of Magic Town (Village? Mountain?) decide, in tribute, to hunt out a dastardly villain among them. After talking round themselves for awhile, they settle on @PrincessButterCup , someone who apparently has admitted to liking chaos a time or two (hey, I love chaos, we all know that well!). Despite her protests, she is set ablaze. You have lynched PBC - the villager Hobgoblin.

I couldn't get online at lunch and this is what welcomes me when I get home.

Thanks a lot.

I find it kind of amusing for someone to do a multiple paragraph post and then complain about chatter in the next. Looking back at peoples' interactions is important in these games if you're not going to just sit around and wait for a seer...

Like this. This is contrary to everything that we've been trying to change around here. Lynching on feels and responses and voting patterns is the crux of the game - intel, data, mechanics are fluff, and you should not expect those things before placing a vote.

I didn't make myself clear. I meant chatter as in posts not related to the game specifically. My multiparagraph post was all directly answering things in my defense that have come up.

I meant data to include everything everyone says by PM and in thread.
I still think "feelz" can be useful, but they should be backed up by something. That could be, well, they were PM'ing me a ton and then started being vague (happened to me in JDH game with 2 of 3 wolves, and also Promo in last pre-vet game). It could be like one person said, "they jumped on a bad lynch." Or, whatever, but something a touch better than just "they didn't post today." A change in posting is a clue, I agree, but I don't think it's a big clue in the first few days, and I don't think it's a big clue in people who are just sporadic as a pattern. Something better than "feelz." "Feelz from tone of posts" would be better than just, "feelz." Or even my rationale at time, "I trust this player who doesn't trust this other player, so I fall in line."

You need to get over that. "Data" should be viewed as secondary. This game is about judging what people say. Seering and "intel" and crap like that is super useful, but if you base your entire gameplay on it as a villager, the village won't do well.

And, not voting is a good way to get yourself lynched.

I don't mean to say any of that. In any case, I try to always get a vote in, but I try to base it on something, even if all I'm doing it is basing it on someone who I trust (and that could be feelz I guess) who is basing it on their own "feelz." I don't like votes that aren't explained somehow. Forcing people to give a reason provides more fodder for evaluating them, which in line with what people seem to want.

*performs a lazy back stroke in the middle of the river styx* Good evening fellow villagers, and I suppose I should say a polite hello to the wolves as well; just in case I run into one of you amidst the labyrinth of Tartarus, lots of shadows to hide in down there, also rubies, lots of and lots of shiny rubies. I feel like something a little more jangly right now though, perhaps a nice little bracelet of coins I can string together that will make music as I glide through around the underworld, but shhh, don't tell Charon I'm diving for silver and gold in his river. Besides I need a nice refreshing dip after being turned me into a village ornament, did someone at least hang something pretty around my neck? You know I really wish I knew what happened, one minute I'm emerging from the nether realms to help a villager out, the next I'm a statue and being put on display. Oh dear, I must have given you all a terrible fright. Hmm, if that was wolves playing a little game of attack the snake haired girl with the pretty diamonds, then oh you silly creatures. If it was a villager being protective, I can only assume the situation was imminently dire and you were left with no other choice but to risk a lynch while I was all frozen silence. Anyhow, no mind, I live another night at least ~ *dives beneath the surface of the river and quickly re-emerges with a handful of silver, before swimming back downstream and calling out over her shoulder* I'm special, you should all love me.

Okay that's my in role write up done, I shall do a more shall we say 'normal' write up of the situation once I've had a chance to eat lunch

I'm all for playing "in character," but ceke's "write up" makes me want to lynch her out of sheer annoyance 😛
I think her history of tabletop gaming is giving us someone very dedicated to making their WW role a reality. Entertaining! 😛

That was amazing, I don't have the energy to be that creative! Very sorry to hear of your statuation, Ceke, but glad you are back with us!

Aww, I'm sorry guys, VMH is right I always loved table top gaming when I used to play and I've been doing that here as well for the happy feels and memories it gives me. I played some amazing storylines back then, I know WW is a different game but I guess I was kind of trying to blend in a bit of both (I suppose partly as well because this being my first game and all it just feels more comfortable to me to add a touch of table top story telling to the mix, because it's helping me feel like I'm settling into the rhythm of the game more - it is a transition for me, but if it is annoying to people then I will stop. 🙂

Don't apologize! You're adding some always enjoyable flair to the game. Your play style is your play style. 🙂

Besides, I bet you'd be fun as heck to play D&D with.

As a weekly playing DnD player, I love GMs who add flair an atmosphere the games. Would enjoy a WW created and modded by Ceke someday, I think. I'm a fan of STL games for the same reason, the longer detailed game write-ups are great imo. It's longer flourishing player posts that I have to glance over because if there's something going on that warrants a long post, others are talking too so it ends up getting 2-3 pages of chatter to catch up on.

Fair enough. I'll try and post more of a dot point summary a little later on. 🙂

I've only dabbled with D&D, but I got right into Vampire the Masquerade. Played a 4th generation Assamite/Caitiff (sired by a third generation clan leader, who broke from the Assamites and formed his own house). Oh I had my own childe, and grandchilde, and lots of gothic melodrama and awesome dice roll fights - then I decided to spend over 18 months playing a full Golconda storyline (Vampire spiritual redemption through trials, something that can't really just be done in a one day cycle of the game). It was so much fun, and very intense to play, except by the end my character had become so powerful I literally couldn't play her anymore (god char status, not really fair when you've developed your character to the point that they can literally kill or drive every other player completely insanse simply by walking into a room, LOL).

i don't like words

*********
Then how do you play a game like this if not with words? Do you mean words that are too verbose, instead of just a more basic 'This happened, I did this, then something else happened, here is some info, the end"?

Hello everyone I can temporarily post on the thread for a bit before I go back to quiet land.

1. I will be strategic liking. Please consider that fact after I am back to my original state.

2. I have some ideas about lynch votes tomorrow based on the fact that Finn was a target but I need to go read back through some stuff to figure out who.

3. I got the sense that roles are much more telling in this game. My ability and affiliation match my role, at least. And before anyone says that statement is wolfy please seer me

Can you explain some of your likes today? I was raising eyebrows in confusion at many.

Oh and welcome to the land of the talkative, however short lived!

Lol, sure. The important things were that I couldn't post until conditions were met, and that despite PBC messaging me I couldn't reply.

I also liked a few things I thought were funny or entertaining. I'll try to keep it to important things in the future

Is this a permanent thing or is there a way for you to be able to post all the time?

Are you allowed to comment on the conditions, or have the mods forbidden that?
