Anyone who has done the MMIs have any advice to give? What topics were asked? I am really nervous about this - thinking on my feet is not my strong suit.

We aren't allowed to talk about the MMI's (you sign a NDA at the interview), but you should check out the MMI page on their website. It has an overview and links if you want to learn more. The best advice is to just be yourself. I liked that each room was a different person, so you had a fresh start if you felt like you messed up on a previous question.

Thanks! I have looked at the website. Most of the material is about MD MMIs which makes it a little harder for me to grasp. Does anyone know if they're generic or vet school relates? The video has a generic diversity one. Sorry, im nervous!

They are not trying to test or gauge your veterinary knowledge or skills during the MMI. They just want to learn more about you, and how you think.

Look at each of their core values at MSU.. Based on the mock interview they made for use, I have a hunch we will be questioned about one of them.

Is there anyone who attended the Zoom workshop thing either last month or is doing it today?? Due to a schedule mix up at work, I can’t make the one that’s set for today, but I would appreciate if anyone could send me any notes or a brief about it if ya’ll don’t mind! Especially since MSU isn’t doing individual file reviews unfortunately

Thanks in advance!

was that the second or third wave of interview invites? lost track at this point.

They said they wouldn’t send updates until we heard about our interview request/rejection. We can just assume that we are still under review like they said last time. Hopefully they get back to us soon.
Same here!

I haven't heard anything yet either. Not even a "you're still in review" update like last time.

What kind of format should we expect for the MMI?

For example, is it two minutes to read and think about the scenario posted outside the station and then six minutes with the evaluator for seven stations? Are we allowed writing utensils and paper to jot down ideas?

1-2 minutes to read and process, but I only spent about a minute outside to read, think, and breath, and I was always last into the room. (You're in a hallway with 6ish other people all going in different doors, same buzzer). Then I think it was 6ish minutes inside. No paper or pencil unless that has changed

Thanks for the info!

How long after interviews does Michigan usually wait to send out acceptance/deny decisions?

Does anyone know when MSU traditionally sends out acceptances/waitlist after IS interviews are completed? During the interview my group was told we should hear by the 13th, but I’m thinking we probably won’t hear today?

Last year, students heard on the following Tuesday after the last group of in state interviewees. So, maybe tomorrow.

I just want to clarify the interview is closed file? They don't have access to our application?

Does anyone know when the last set of interview invites are , I’m OOS applicant
The stress is real .

- Last interview date 2/28/19

ETA - I misread and thought you meant last interview date. I have no idea when last invite will go out (been studying for too long I forgot how to read 😉), but I'd imagine in the next week or two to give people enough time to plan travel.

Sorry if this was asked before - are parents allowed to join us on the tour and other activities after our MMI?
