After a deep dive on past classes threads... it looks like MSU historically releases decisions on Wednesdays. For IS the waitlist moved about 10-12 spots and OOS about 60 last year.
thank you for this! crossing my fingers for this wednesday 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I was waitlisted at MSU (IS) last year and decisions were released the 3rd full week of January on a Thursday, a week later than they initially told us we would be notified. Unfortunately they’re already almost 3 weeks later than last year so not totally sure what to expect from them at this point. I really feel like we should be hearing back this week though, I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t.

I’m losing my mind. Looks like all of my previous MSU emails came between 3-5pm.

At least the nice thing is once they send emails out, if you are waitlisted they tell you what number so you're not just hoping into the void about what number you are.

How do you check if the list has moved once you’ve been assigned a number?

I think they email you with updates, last year's thread said the last person called off the waitlist was #60 originally! Wow!

Is it bad I want to hear next week? Lol only because today is my anniversary with my SO

Has anyone heard anything at all? I’m dying to know if it’ll be this week or next week so I can stop refreshing my email every second lol

OOS waitlist #10, but will be declining! Goodluck everyone!

OOS waitlist #8. Already accepted into my top choice school, so I will be declining. Congrats to everyone accepted and good luck to everyone on the waitlist!

OOS Alternate #34 - does anyone know if moving around 60 spots is typical? I'm trying to stay positive but also gauge my chances here 😬 Congratulations to all those accepted! 🙂

Some years it moves a lot; others not as much but 60 is probably pretty normal.
You are in a really good position I think at 34 for OOS.
The last two years have not been typical at all of course but they used to only accept around 30 for OOS and last year it was more like 50-60 so you have a much better chance than typical years.

Also wanted to note that IS waitlist moved about 20 spots last year - I know someone who started at 36 and ended at 16.
I wouldn’t count this though. I look more at those who were waitlisted and then ultimately accepted! I think it’s a better gauge of how many IS actually decline their seat because there are people in between on the waitlist that will accept elsewhere

IS waitlisted #33(will be staying on) Trying to remain hopeful 🤪
