"We're sending some accept letters out in the next day or two... but not all letters. We still have a dozen files incomplete. The Dean said send some accepts, hold other decision letters until those dozen files are complete."

Just a heads up, too, it does NOT mean anything if you are/are not accepted in the first small batch they were talking about sending out! It doesn't mean someone was super-amazing if they get an acceptance before the big batch, and it diesn't mean someone sucked a little if their acceptance goes out in the larger, later mailing 🙂 (This insight comes from Kathy herself!)

Crossing my fingers for all of you!!! 🙂

Also, in response to whoever said they thought Mizzou's equipment was outdated...compared to where?? It was pretty similar to (if not better than) what I saw at University of Illinois and Ohio State last year! Plus, I think the overall atmosphere at MU is AWESOME! Just the whole "vibe" of the school, hospital, and town...

Random coolness: Saw a cow give live birth DURING CLASS today, totally by chance!! 🙂 One of my professors even helped out! 😍

I know I had commented that the facilities were a little out dated (but not as bad as OSU!). As in it's not a brand spankin new hospital, but all the fun toys are there and the atmosphere made up for it a 100 times over. And if the only thing I can find to criticize is that it's not perfect and shiny new, I think that's pretty damn good.
I hope I get in so so bad. I just want to know already!

I just got my IS interview invite! Same day as Illinois.

Soooo disappointed I am going to have to turn down one of my two best chances. Unless by some miracle Mizzou will work with me 🙁 So much time, effort, and money in both of those applications.

Thanks, I am going to try. I don't know how to approach it... am I honest and say its another (non movable) interview, or just that I have a conflict? I don't want to sound like there is something else more important than my goal of being a veterinarian, but also don't want to sound cocky. Mizzou is definitely my first choice, but also the school I feel like I have less chance at despite the home field advantage.

Illinois actually just posted interview times... My interview there is at 8am, so it is hypothetically possible that I could make it to mizzou by my scheduled interview time. But waking up at 6 am, interviewing, then spending 5 hours on the road without time for a break before heading straight into my Mizzou interview will not give me any advantages.

I personally would just be honest about it. I'm sure it happens to other people. I know for oos they had something like five interview dates, so maybe it is the same for instate too? That way even if you schedule your interview for the next day you'll have time to drive to the interview and relax a little over night.

I'm not too sure about the best approach. If it were me, I would say that I have prior obligations that I must attend on that same day outside of Missouri, and that I would be quite rushed to make that interview time, and then ask if they would consider moving it to later that day or to another day that week.

Edit: I'll second bannanababy in that they have gotten those kinds of requests before, so if you decide to elaborate or not, Kathy will be as helpful as possible.
