NC State University c/o 2026 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would love to know how many times have y’all applied? This is my first application with them for vet school and from the looks of some past forums…people are on their 3rd application and still not getting accepted 🥲 #nervous
This is my third cycle applying to State (I’m ISS). Last year we didn’t hear back until March 24th. Looks like that’ll be the case this year 🤷🏻‍♀️

From what I’ve seen it’s on their Giving Day which would be March 23rd this year 🥲 I check my emails everyday with hopes the decision will be made early but from the looks of it…Giving Day will be decision day 😩

Last year people were posting that they got OOS results Feb 19 and their giving day was March 24

1st time for me!

It's my dream school also! ❤️ Dr. Harrison is phenomenal! Hopefully OOS will hear back 2 weeks post 2/22, which would be 3/8 (next tuesday).
I thought the extended deadline was 2/15

I have been accepted at UT and waitlisted at Kansas State. Declined my waitlist seat at KSU. NCSU is my dream school so I’m praying for an acceptance.
Congrats on UT acceptance! I’m currently waitlisted there but it’s my #1 school. My husband will be finishing up undergrad there in the fall so I’m praying for a spot there

I’ve heard OOS waitlist moves quite a bit. There’s no rankings. Are you IS or OOS?

I just got an email saying my application has moved to faculty committee review. On that email it said the transcript deadline was moved to 3/4.
Wow, I think this is the most behind I have ever seen them! Probably means we all are not going to hear anything until late late March/the original April 1st deadline.

Seeing an email with the title "Application Status" just about gave me a heart attack haha. I thought it might be a decision.
We might never be notified at this rate 🤣🤣 congrats on moving to committee review!!

Is the transcript deadline for all applicants regardless of IS or OOS?

I wonder if they’re just trying to get everything done and notify OOS at the same time as IS instead of staggering it. Because usually OOS is like 2 weeks before IS, but they won’t make it at this rate

I'm not at all active on SDN but I'm sending out good vibes to all of you. We're in the home stretch now!
Is Raleigh pretty kid friendly? I’m currently in Knoxville, TN and the crime here is AWFUL. Constant shootings, deaths, etc.
What are some of the burbs within a 30 minute commute to NCSU?
I'm a current undergraduate student living directly beside campus.
If you live further out there are definitely some lovely areas to have a kid and commute in. The area right around the university is very undergraduate student-heavy (and therefore full of apartment complexes that are either brand new and insanely expensive or ancient and still overpriced), and especially in this last year we've had crime increase in a few key "sketchy" areas right around main campus. Shooting, robberies, etc. etc. But overall I would not say I feel unsafe in the city as a whole, and the area directly around the veterinary campus isn't where anything major goes down.
Some of the suburbs are Garner, Apex, Holly Springs, Cary (although Cary at this point is pretty expensive too), Morrisville, Knightdale.

I know I’ve asked before but it’s been a little bit and things have changed. Is there anyone still having not received a committee review email? I’m trying to gauge where NCSU may be at in the process, maybe we’re closer than we think? 🤞🏼

Anyone heard anything from NC State yet? I received my faculty committee email in January and radio silence since. My anxiety is killing me waiting for decisions 🙁
Nothing yet for me 🙁

I received mine first week of January and haven’t heard anything yet. Well I did receive an email Feb.14stating I needed to update my NC Residency to continue in admissions but that’s it.

Dang, that sucks. Feels like I haven't seen anyone hear anything back yet. I only know of a girl in one of my classes who told me she got a rejection letter. Seems like we'll be waiting until the April 1st deadline.

I didn’t realize they’ve sent out some rejection letters already? I guess it’s good i havent gotten one

I think they've mostly probably sent out rejections based on not having admissions requirements - so that's probably the email she got I'd assume.
Yeah since they seem so backlogged on transcripts etc, they probably were still sorting through people who didn't meet all the requirements etc. I wouldn't really take it as a good or bad sign lol.

If you don’t mind me asking.. were y’all rejected after being sent to committee review? Also OOS or IS?
