for me it was 11/1/12, so I schedule it for that day. the iis are I think only held on tue and thur.

is anyone going scheduled for 11/1? if so, are you guys flying right out or sticking around and enjoying the beach a little?

Where are some good places to stay?

jesus christ, this scheduling thing is killing me. Turned out I have two dates registered one on Sep and one on NOV and now they cancelled the sep one for me. Now when I go back to check on dates there are no more spots left from Sept-Oct. : \

November is still alright man, i don't' think there is more advantage of ii early. besides, it will be cooler in floriday in nov, so we can go for a swim afterwards!

You're right about Tues/Thurs interviews. The admissions counselor told me they interview 2T and 2R a month.

There is certainly an advantage to interviewing early. They accept kids on a rolling basis and meet after every 4 interview days to decide who gets in. The class probably won't be full by November, but they will certainly be more picky at that point than they are in September.

PM'd you MedMike.

I feel like now that I have an interview, I need to figure out what to do next. Look at interview questions, review the school's website, buy a suit... I don't even know where to start!

Suit first. It might take a few weeks to find one and have it tailored.

Thanks, I was jumping for joy when I saw the earlier one! lol

i don't how evidence based that is... you could also think that they get less selective as the cycle progresses since all the higher stat people get taken or already granted ii,

Interviewing tomorrow anyone interested in going to the beach/ getting drinks afterwards?

you know, probably after tuoro NY, this school gotta be in one of the best location for a DO school

What about Touro-CA and LECOM-B?

damn the system. guess there is no way around it. Used my whole day trying to get my Sept date back.

Interview Invite! But when I click on ANY of the available dates, it says "No appointments match your selections"

Anyone else experiencing this? Any tips?

Congratulations! You should make an MDapps, even if you have to put fake stats up for those of us who are rooting for you!

No it definitely gets more selective as the interview cycle progresses. You have fewer spots to fill.

I interviewed in February and was put on the alternate list until a few days before class started. It was a rollercoaster that I did not enjoy, but I at least had another school to attend if Nova didn't work out. In glad I'm here though, I love this school.

sigh...Nova admission dept. continues to frustrate me. I called today to ask about the outstanding items email they sent me last week and the lady says that only my transcript is missing. I ask aren't the transcripts only needed if we get accepted and she gets confused and just says no I need to submit it. At this point I was starting to doubt how knowledgeable this lady really was about the whole process. Next, she tell me I have an ii. Obviously this made me really happy as she told me that I just need to wait until I am submitted a ii email. Few mins later I call again to ask someone else about the transcript issue and was informed that I don't need to submit it. Then I ask about the ii and the person I was speaking to says that she can't go and check if I have an ii or not. I tell her that I was told about the ii few mins ago and she says that she really can't confirm or deny if I actually have an ii or not.....Seriously, WTF?!?!😡

I just received the outstanding items email, and WebSTAR says my transcripts are missing. I don't plan on turning them in unless I get accepted, but I'm still waiting for an ii first. I know you just got an ii today (big congrats, btw!). Can you please tell me when you were complete and when you received the outstanding items email? Thanks!

Vallejo???? um..... no comment

Tampa? um.... republican and retiree heaven

Tampa is great, and I'm not a Republican. But saying LECOM-B is in Tampa is like saying Nova is in Miami... it's not.

What about Touro-CA and LECOM-B?

I guess this a reasonable assumption from someone who doesn't live in California. So I'll try to explain as best as I can...

Technically speaking, Touro-CA is very close to San Francisco (if you draw a straight line on Google maps) and you're probably thinking it provides California sunshine, coastal views, and the golden gate bridge.

In reality Touro is located on a small island (abandoned former naval shipyard) called Mare Island. It's pretty much a **** hole and my friends at Touro occasionally hear gun shots at night (extreme example I know). Just across the bridge to the east is mainland Vallejo (or Valley Hoe as those of us in the east bay so affectionately label it), one of the lamest and most uninteresting cities in the bay area.

But who cares? It's just a quick drive away from San Francisco, right? Wrong. The traffic up there is a nightmare and the drive to the city can take anywhere from 50 minutes to 2 hours.

Please note that my problems are with the location only. The school is fine. I just don't want you and other applicants to think of Touro as the west coast version of Nova.

Yeah that comparison made no sense to me. Bradenton might not be as impressive as Fort Lauderdale but it's still very nice.

The red words? I have been bugging the administration for a whole afternoon. Wait a little, they say to check next morning. For me it is fixed now.

Sure, not a problem. If the only thing you are missing is the transcript, then ignore this email. I was sent this outstanding items email last Friday, so a few days before my ii email. I spent too much time being frustrating over it when I should have just ignore it. I never got any complete emails. Just continue to check in your online portal if they have received everything ,except transcript, and if the online portal indicates that they have everything then all you can do is wait for an interview invite.

Exactly just ignore the transcript email and don't worry about it.

They will send you an email every time you send in a new letter just so you know they have received it. It's just am FYI email. Communication may be delayed a little but is better than what I have experienced with other schools.

Yup, its fixed. Scheduled Nov.29. Nov 27 was available too but being around the weekend during thanksgiving time, the ticket price difference is huge. I am excited to have a 1 On 1 interview. 😀

Check out MDapps link under my avatar. I have worked to keep it up to date on secondaries and such. If I update it each time I get something from a school it is not much work. If I let them all pile up then it will be more work to catch up on.

As of right now the available dates are 9/11, 10/18, 10/23, 10/25, 11/1, 11/6, 11/8, 11, 15, 11/27, 11/29, 12/6, 12/11, and 12/13.

For what it's worth, the first date available when I got my invite last week was 11/1 but after re-checking this week I was able to reschedule to 9/13. So I wouldn't worry about availability too much.

To reschedule, did you have to cancel your first interview date and then be able to look at the calendar for available dates? when I click on "Reschedule my appt", a pop up says that "this will immediately cancel my current appointment and take me to the calendar". I don't want to take the risk of cancelling my date and then looking at the calendar that only has late dates.

hey just landed in fort lauderdale and waiting for the holiday inn shuttle, anyone else staying there who's interviewing tomorrow? (Its the one in Davie)

You do have to cancel but a way around canceling your current appointment is to visit the link in the initial invite they sent you and you'll be able to look at current dates. Then you'll go in through the reschedule link and reschedule.

I currently only see december =/

Thats a great idea! thanks so much! I will now be checking every 15 mins until my Nov date. hehe.😛

If anyone needs a ride tomorrow morning to save money, I'll be more than happy to pick you up. So far it's me and one other guy (from the holiday inn express). Just PM me and I'll send you my number.

really? whats that town like? i just figured it was a suburb of tampa. i've never been to florida, so I have no idea....

Aw man! Looks like I have some competition now lol!

Earlier in the thread someone posted that they interview only about 600 people out of about 4100 applicants, and accept about 400 out of that 600. So an interview is a really good thing at this school. Don't stress too much! We have interviews at an awesome school with plenty of time to prepare for it, that's all that matters!

Yes, true. But I just don't understand how one day can make such difference. Two days ago I saw interview dates from SEP-OCT, then yesterday those dates were gone.
I guess just have to accept. ha ha

I'm interviewing in December, and I saw a small mistake in my essay question #2 about previous employment experience. Is there a specific person I should call, or should I just send [email protected] an email to explain it? Thoughts?

I'm totally with you man. When I opened up the calendar my heart sunk a little when I didn't see those early dates. But the high acceptance ratio is pretty nice to hold onto for the time being. Good luck with everything!

So I just got an interview invite from another school, scheduled the day BEFORE my NOVA interview. The only dates now available are in December. =/ Should I take a December date or is that too late?

I would schedule it. If you get accepted somewhere before then you can just cancel it.

If you prefer Nova to that school, schedule the other one in December.

If you prefer the other school to Nova, reschedule Nova.

In other words, interview at your higher choice first.

I did not like my interview today... Might have been lack of sleep but I felt like I was being grilled on my grades, studying techniques and health care reform. The school was awesome... The dean was hilarious, very nice guy.. Wish I felt better about the interview though bc I loved nova. Guess I'll have to wait and see, luckily I have 4 more interviews planned to look forward to.

Really? Mine didn't ask me about grades or health reform. Dean is really cool though.

Sorry to hear that!

Could you elaborate on "grilled on grades"? I am curious because my interview is very soon!
Did they ask you about Cs whats one example of a question they asked?

What did they ask you about the health care reform?

If you don't want to answer on the thread, is it okay if I PM you?
