Just got an II .... but it's not til February 15th. Does anyone know if I will have a legitimate shot at that time, or am I pretty much interviewing for a waitlist? My stats are 3.44cgpa and 29 mcat.

It's been forever since I looked but I think you're right at their average. I think you probably have a good shot if you do well in the interview. If it would help with your decision you could call after the first round of deposits are due on the 14th and see how full their class is then.

We were told over and over again during our interview that getting the interview at this school is the hard part. If you get an interview here they're def pretty interested.

IIRC you can go to the NSU bookstore website and "buy" the deposit. Make sure it is the Osteopathic Medicine deposit.

Also remember to select free shipping. 😛

There are instructions in the acceptance packet for how to pay at the university on-line store. Also, there is a phone number where they can take a credit card payment over the phone.

Someone did figure out a way to do it a few pages back. Sometime in September if I remember correctly. Go back and search to find it. I didn't need to do it, and I am too lazy to look for it right now. I am in the middle of cooking dinner and if I do something like searching a thread I would burn the spaghetti. 🙁 that would not make a good night.

Also, when you DO get the email, you can just go in and check the scheduling website an unreasonable amount of times a day in hopes that a sooner date opens up. My friend was able to move his up a month to the same date as me to fly out with me for the interview. Hope is not lost!

I don't mind their usage. I am against their forced usage.

I don't know if there's a difference between iclickers and clickers in general. For us, there were really only a few classes that used them, and they were the classes that cared most about attendance - OPP uses clicker questions for extra credit, Foundations sometimes uses them just as a different style of teaching but I don't think they really bother to check attendance with them.

So what kind of remediation does nsu have if you were to fail a course or two? I m getting all nervous by that single mom

If you fail a class there's a remediation exam at the end of the year. You can fail up to something like 9 credits total and if you pass the remediation exam(s) you move on to the next year, no problem. If you fail the remediation exam or if you fail more than that number of credits you have to retake the year automatically - but only the classes you failed. And there is some cutoff where they might not even let you retake the year, but it's something like 15 credits - aka failing at least 4 or 5 classes or something. IMO it's a pretty fair policy; people were definitely allowed to take medical or personal leaves and repeat a year as well, because we had a few in our class.

I'm curious to know what ends up happening with the iPad deal. I haven't heard anything about it thus far outside of here, a true SDN exclusive. A lot of people have the ebooks on their iPads. That and the Visible Body 3D app for gross lab. I love that app. Well worth the price.

I asked Lynne Cawley about this today and she said they're definitely in discussion for the incoming class. Don't know if it's settled or not, but lucky you guys if it works out 😎.

Honestly, just relax and have fun🙂 it's a great interview day and we had a lot of time to interact with students and faculty. The interview is pretty short and straightforward.

Did anyone on sdn interview here today? Just wanted to know what you thought without having people eavesdropping or judging every move.

I enjoyed it a lot. The interviewers were very stoic which annoyed me because I couldn't tell if they liked my answers or not. The tour guides were exceptionally helpful and very knowledgable.

Now I wait until the 21st. Very fast turn around time for this late in the cycle.

Apple still commands majority market share (55%) with android around 44% as of last quarter reports. Windows machines are nowhere in sight. Could they take out a chunk of other tablets if they are absurdly priced? Sure. But probably not. Certainly didn't happen with the kindle fire which was supposed to be the iPad killer. Kindle fire hd has been a flunk as well. There isn't enough market presence of other products to take over the lead. The average person is not tech savvy and wants something that just works. The iPad seems to fit that description quite well.

There aren't enough apps and won't be when the new tablets are released to justify schools signing a contract with Microsoft. The iPad sounds like a draw. Oh you guys will all get a Lenovo yoga when you enter school here!

Doesn't sound all that exciting.

Probably not. When they change things for incoming classes they tend not to grandfather old classes into them. Example: they switched to ebooks for 2015 but the year above us had to pay extra if they wanted to access them.

It was mostly a joke. When I was in Florida for interviews it thunder stormed, and I talked with a few other interviewees about how the rain in Florida is different from the rain in Oregon. There it rains 2 inches in 20 minutes then it is done for the day. Here it will rain for 36 hours straight and there will only be 0.35 inches recorded. Constant drizzle but nothing to show for it. If we have an inch in 24 hours it is a torrential downpour.

Also, because when it rains here, there usually is not thunder and lightning. That would freak out my dog to no end and cause her to wet on the floor on a daily basis when it is the rainy season. She is such a chicken dog. I never thought a lab would be afraid of a little water falling from the sky. She loves to jump into lakes and rivers, but have it come from above and it is like it is hydrochloric acid.

Their system still says I have LORs from 3 dentists. I've exchanged 7 emails with them and they haven't fixed it. They've now just stopped answering me, lol. It was much more troubling a few days ago.
