Nova Southeastern Univ (NSU-COM) Discussion Thread 2013 - 2014

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats to everyone who got an ii. For the rest of us, I guess we will see with the next batch next week perhaps. Good luck everyone.

Interview invite!

Completed file: 6/26
GPA: 3.73 science / 3.81 cum (including both undergrad and grad)
MCAT: 27
New Jersey resident

Is there an actual "complete" email? I submitted my app and got the "NSU Documents Received" email. Is that a "complete" email?

I wouldn't stress so much about not having a "complete email or call". This is the second school I received an interview invite without any sort of "complete email or call". Hope this takes the edge off for those people putting so much emphasis on date of submission & complete. Best bet as with any school is to call.

I'm sure you'll get one, I'm rootin for ya!

I see that you're from BC as well, are you currently at UBC/SFU?

Complete 2 weeks ago, slightly above average stats... nothing. Damn

I submitted around the same time with an above avg mcat and still nothing here either. At this point all we can really do is be patient (I know its difficult) and hope for the best.

Call and they said "Decision has been made" and expect something in the mail.

Good luck to all of you, guess it wasn't meant to be 🙁

3.5/3.6/29 were my rejected stats, FL resident currently living in North FL.

What the...?

your stats are above their average and you are an IS applicant. Could it be something else in your application?

I got an II right away from LECOM-B so I really have no idea. I did rush to complete my secondary so that may have been the cause (literally copied and pasted from the main application).

Does anyone know if they waitlist this early through the mail? Maybe sending updates would help grant an II if I show interest. I really have no idea why I didn't get an II...

Just so you know, all of my answers to the "prompt-like" questions were a sentence or two. In fact, I answered "How did you learn about DO?" in one sentence.

Could it be an early acceptance?

Do they still do interview invites for applicants that will be complete in September?

Let's be positive and wait for an acceptance letter!!!

Has anyone received an II with incomplete letters of rec?????
I still haven't heard from Nova ):

Errr, but I never interviewed...

I know, but your stats are above their average, and I honestly don't think it's a big deal you copied and pasted in your secondary....

Btw are you confident you spoke with someone reliable?

No idea, I'm right now going to wait and see what the letter has to say.

All I can hope is that it isn't outright rejection.

Hoping it works out for you, I know it's your #1 choice, good luck.

Dark label, at least you have an interview at LECOM. Congrats! You never know about nova. Maybe it's coming. I'm a third time applicant and I haven't heard squat. One thing I have learned about this application thing is that you never know exactly what is going on. Kill it at LECOM.

You've got stamina my friend

We might be kindred spirits. Welcome to the c/o 2018 my friend.

Doesn't sound likely that it's a rejection. Don't sweat it until you get the email or letter.

Yeah too stupid to know when to quit. This is it though. Only applying to two schools this round; nova being one of them. Good luck and congrats to er'body else!!

@Dc & Psquared what do you believe we're your weaknesses throughout your attempts?

I'm a third time applicant as well, and I cannot stress the importance of applying early. Getting your app in as soon as possible is huge. And of course quality of content, but if you can get an interview before New Years your chances are much higher. As far as the interview goes, it's pretty standard questions, which are all readily available through these forums. Hoping getting my app in early and my summer volunteering will help give me that push this year! Lets get it Dc!

Seeing people with stats higher than avg not get interviews here just tells me Nova is just looking for applicants with a certain quality in their EC's. Perhaps its 200+ volunteer hours or something of the sort.

I'm an ER technician of 6 months hired straight from my hospital volunteering job and I haven't gotten an ii yet. 3.0/3.2/34Q OOS. You are not alone!
