I dont think that's true. My mcat is a 27. And my sci/cum is a 3.74/3.95 and still no II

Damn, I hope i get an II though 😡

Same here 27-29 mcat 4.0 gpa lots of MD interviews but no love yet from nova...

My MCAT is a 28 and still no ii yet. However, my secondary wasn't verified until july 22nd so they are likely sending out invites to those with high mcats and very early applications.

Got an II this morning! I haven't been following the thread but anyone else going on Sept. 19th?

How quickly after an interview do you get your decision?

I'll be there with you. Extremely excited for another interview!! Does anyone know what percentage of students that interview get accepted here?

Chances of acceptance once you get the interview are really good. I read someone it's 80%+ including the WL movement that comes at the end of the cycle, although I honestly have no idea if this is accurate. The 67% someone else posted earlier is probably a more realistic approximation. However, keep in mind that the % accepted is an average. People that interview in the beginning of the cycle have a greater chance of getting accepted than people who interview in the spring.

Depends when you interview and when the adcom happens to meet. Could be anywhere from a week to several weeks.

Also, if you haven't gotten an interview yet and submitted early, are complete, etc., please don't panic. It's still July...there is plenty of time to get an interview invite. Just because you didn't get one today doesn't mean they passed you up, so just be patient 😉

Thanks for this, but more importantly, thanks for the #MedSchoolAppHell link!

Someone posted in the last year's thread that the interviewee/accepted ratio is 600/400. I truly hope this is the case for this year.

I heard about 2/3 are accepted last year during my interview. Never hurts to ask this year during your interview either.

dam congrats to the IIs

jello that I haven't heard anything yet 🙁

I signed up for August 27. Rather miss a Tuesday from work than a Thursday.

I'm confused, some people are saying II - does this mean secondary prompt?

Or do they mean II as in interview (??).

It seems some people have gotten interviews. I haven't heard from them yet.

Yeah, II means interview invite.

Ended up picking 9-19 for my interview date--cheapest flights to Ft Lauderdale (~$250) of all the September dates, plus it's far enough in the future that I can cancel/change the date if need be (haven't booked flights/hotel yet).

I still think it's nuts that flights to Tampa for the same Sept. dates are over $400 (which is what I paid for my LECOM August interview flights), $150 more than flights to Ft Lauderdale. I guess which Florida coast you fly to really matters??

No love from Nova yet either (3.0/3.2/34q) but congrats to all of you interviewees!

With that MCAT score, why haven't you done grade replacement?

I'm doing retakes now while working full time. I have a 4.0 post-bacc GPA but that's only 3 classes: EMT cert course, biochem 1, and orgo 2. Still wasn't enough to raise my undergrad GPA much because I took WAY too many extra science courses per semester in college. Graduated with 178 credits and am still kicking myself today :/

Don't worry Pepes, our email is coming Monday or Tuesday.

Woohoo! :xf:

Hey guys! I will be interviewing on Thursday, September 12th. I was planning on staying at the Hampton Inn since there is an airport shuttle and university shuttle. There also is a discounted rate for people there for interviews. To cut costs, I was wondering if someone would be interested in sharing a room with me? If you are interested, please send me a personal message and let me know. I am a young 20's male, and definitely not a creeper 😉 so you should talk to me.

I got the call Monday that my file was complete. I have 3.29 ugpa 3.45 science gpa and my post bacc I had a 3.95 gpa. My MCAT was a 27. I hope I get an interview!!

Congrats to those who recently got interview invitations! Good luck!

Any tips for the interview? What type of interview is it (MMI, etc)?

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I found it to be helpful during interview season. There's interview feedback for all MD and DO schools. Questions are at the bottom. Take what's on there with a grain of salt- use it as a guide to prepare, but don't rely on it 100%!

Congrats on all the interviews guys, and good luck! 🙂

Congratulations to all that got an interview invite! To those that haven't, don't stress out over it, there's plenty of time left.

For those with II: My interview was great. I was relaxed, felt confident, and the interviewers were very friendly. Practice your responses to standard questions, but Do Not memorize answers. I didn't hear a single person say they felt bad about their interview when they were over. I left the school that day feeling great about my chances.

If you can, definitely take the school tour. Once the tour ended, there was no other DO school I was going to attend. My mind was made up. That's my opinion though, I love the school and the area.

In the application summary, under "MCAT Test Scores" I see the date I took it, but I don't see the score anywhere on there....
Does this mean Nova doesn't have my scores????

What are the stats of people who have gotten interviews so far?

This school thread seems to be very alive, have they already given out acceptances or something?

This thread was booming before secondaries even went out.

They have only just released the first round of II's. I expect this thread to explode after the first groupers interview on August 27.

Why is Nova so special?

Nice part of Florida and associated with a large undergrad institution?

Kind of curious about this myself considering NSU grads of 2011 had the largest amount of debt out of any DO school.
This is misleading I believe. Nova's in-state tuition is only $10k higher than LECOM-B's in-state tuition. If you can keep your cost of living expenses down (significant other works etc) then you can walk out of Nova with a fairly low overall debt load.

Given they have a very large network with great connections in South Florida, Nova is a highly sought after school for the South Eastern US.

That link is very helpful; thank you!! Gonna prepare answers to a good number of the recent questions; it's a good guide to what questions are most often asked at particular schools.

Just got the call about my file being complete, nearly had a heart attack

When I submitted my secondary, I lost my phone and thus never got a phonecall. I now have a phone; should I call them to determine if everything is okay?

Anyone interviewing on August 29th wanna share a hotel room? I'm an early 20's male.

Scheduled for sept 10.. anyone want to meet up, room, etc?

Early 20s male

I'm interviewing on Aug 27, staying at the hampton. Anyone down to meet up the night before, maybe take the shuttle to nova and check out where we need to meet the next morning? I don't wanna spend a bunch of time searching and orienting myself in the morning 😛

How long after you got the call about being complete did it take for you to receive and interview?
