Did they tell you the soonest they will inform you of your acceptance status?
Did they give you % accepted out of those interviewed?
are the questions pretty much the old questions posted on sdn?

I took the Hampton shuttle and had no problem. It did take them 40 min to come get me at the airport though.

The LATEST they inform you of the decision is October 4th, for those who interviewed today. She mentioned that it might be sooner.

The day ends at 3 with the tour and at 2 without the tour. The interview was roughly 15 minutes. 2 faculty interviewers. I didn't stay at The Hampton. The taxis in Ft. Lauderdale are stupid expensive.

I think I did fine. I wasn't nervous at all, and I just had conversations with my interviewers. I didn't rehearse any answers beforehand either. I had some pauses to gather my thoughts, but I felt like I gave thoughtful, articulate answers.

This group will receive a status by October 4th at the latest.

The interviewers didn't give out percentages, but current med students say the chances are pretty good.

They asked very basic questions. Nothing relating to ethics of hypothetical things.

I'm still driving home, but this was a super relaxed interview. Regardless of my admissions decision, this is an interview everyone should attend. Day was a bit long, but very very easy.
 
during the lunch with the dean, do we get to ask him questions? I imagine theres 25 people so it would be hard to talk to him? no?

Ya it was my first interview so I was a bit nervous. I think I could have answered two of the questions better but overall I believe it was very laid back. I think as long as you were not socially awkward or too over confident you should be fine. The students told us we should hear back in two weeks. The anticipation might kill me lol.

The dean talked in an almost stream of consciousness manner
He encouraged people to ask questions. But the whole shebang was so informative that not many people had additional questions to ask.

The dean stressed the culture of the school with emphasis in the cohesiveness and altruism of the student body. He also discussed the school's strengths.

I think we had a good group of people today.
 
I have to say that I would go to NOVA just for the Dean. He is the embodiment of everything that osteopathic medicine should be. Also, the school was great too... Best of luck to everyone from the interview today!!

Definitely concur with this, was really fun to meet you all. The students were really laid back and welcoming and were really friendly with their peers that we ran into, including other health professions students. The lunch with the Dean was definitely a highlight for me, he was very genial and really helped in putting a real comfortable perspective on things. The interview itself wasn't stressful, it seemed like they really wanted to give you every chance to show who you are as best as possible.
 
Saw you ppl that interviewed today! Good luck, decisions uSually go out on Fridays, I would guess next Friday since they have more interviews on Thursday I think.

Loved the dean. Loved the school. Loved the students. Loved the day. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT ALL! I've never felt more comfortable in an interview in my entire life.

I definitely feel like we had a good group of people interviewing today. Such an eclectic group with amazing backgrounds.

I was very impressed with the presentation by Nova. They certainly glossed over some aspects of their curriculum in order to sell the more desirable aspects, but I believe all schools will do that. The entire day was a showcase of what Nova had to offer you, which was very refreshing when compared to my previous experience.

I was doubly amazed at every single person we ran into wishing us luck and telling us they hope to see us there next year. From the random med student walking by to the support staff walking down the hall. Very warm and welcoming environment.

As I said earlier, regardless if I am accepted to Nova or not, everyone should apply there and attend their interview in order to experience their showcase.

As my interviewer told me towards the end of our time together: Go to your other interviews and compare them to us (Nova) and see how they match up. They wished me well and told me they hoped to see me next year!

Now onto LMU and see how they present themselves!

I think we had a great group as well. Everyone was very friendly and had excellent credentials. Makes me glad I was in the first group. Good luck everyone!!!

I also think we had a really awesome group. Very supportive of each other as we waited our turn to interview and definitely tried to help each other relax as the process rolled on. Bummed we couldn't hang more before or after though.

They didn't do that so much with me but they did ask me about a difficult class I took and how I handled it. I think they want to see that you can explain to them that you can take a tough situation, adjust, and learn from it.

If there are any weaknesses in your file, they will ask you about it.

They asked me about some bad grades I had gotten in undergrad. You answer the question honestly and move on.

This is not an interview you need to "prepare" for. I think they really just wanted to see how well we could communicate and if we were a person vs a robot. If you can have a normal conversation with them, I think you will be okay.

You should definitely factor proximity into this equation. I stayed at a nice hotel by the airport, but the taxi/shuttle costs to and back from the hotel added up to $60.

Good luck! It was an awesome experience. I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax and have a little bit of fun with the process, at this point something in your stats and app tells them you can handle the rigor, now I think it really boils down to who are you as a person.

Holiday Inn Express was $69.99 for the Nova rate I believe. It's a bed to sleep in, no real amenities. They did have bagels, coffee etc downstairs at 6am, which is beneficial for all you breakfast eaters. It's 3 miles from the parking garage.
 
Holiday Inn Express discount was 79.99 for me. I changed rooms twice, but they were nice about it. First room shared a wall with an elevator which was very loud. Second room smelled like urine...strong...urine.
 
Thanks. I'm staying the weekend after my interview to explore Miami. Is it worth staying at the Holiday Inn at Ft. L and then traveling to Miami Beach every night, or should I relocate after my interview is over?

Anyone else interviewing on 10/10 that is planning on going to Liv or Story?

Depends on what time you head back to FtL if you stay here. The traffic in Miami is like no other in FL.

What time did the entire day finish up? I need to know if I can make it back to catch my flight in time
 
I'll be there September 12 to interview as well. PM me I'm down to meet up the night before !

The tour from 2-3 is optional. You can leave at 2pm if necessary.
 
It's only been 2 days, but can we please find out our admissions decision?!?!? :laugh:
 
For those who stayed at the Hampton, what did you do with your luggage while you were interviewing? Do they hold your luggage for you. I don't want to book another night just so I have somewhere to leave my stuff.
 
Hoping for some love from NSU!

26 on my MCAT isn't helping though!

Best of luck to all who've gotten interviews and for those who haven't yet (including me), lets keep our heads up!
