Thanks ewelling! Omg you just made my day!!!!!!!! T_T
😍
Same, I wrote "My friend's dad, who is a DO anesthesiologist." Not even a complete sentence. Had an interview last Thursday.
Be careful with how easy you guys think these interviews might be, my group was mixed. Some of us got softball, some of us, like myself, did not, although if you can't answer these you may want to think about some things. Free advice there.
1. Why Osteopathic Medicine
2. Why NOVA?
3. I see you took the MCAT twice, scoring 26 and then 33. What happened in between?
4. In your personal statement you discuss a shift in your academic performance, if you really shifted, why the low MCAT score the first time?
5. Have you applied to any allopathic schools? Why? WHICH ONES?
6. Would you go to a DO over an MD? Why? I'm an MD I think I'm a great doctor (I'm not even kidding here folks)
My interviewers said when I was leaving that they enjoyed their discussions with me, and we were talking casually about research and the healthcare plan and the interview process for the last 5 minutes or so. My interview took about 25 minutes (typically 15 that day). Here at the beginning I am predicting they want to really look into the candidates who are applying, dig in to their real desires.
I wish the best to you all. Don't be nervous, just be prepared and understand if you are honest, you'll be just fine, although telling them you're applying to anything that can get you a degree is something you'll want to keep to yourself, and for god's sake email your interviewers and say thank you, I gave that tid-bit to a lot of applicants in my group whose first interview was this one.
