So, this might seem like a dumb question, but I am not sure if I was just invited to interview here at Nova. I completed my secondary to a week ago and today I got an email that was kind of out of the blue. It gives me info on how to add additional info to my application if I so choose and then says, "There is much to learn about Nova Southeastern University and we would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. You are also invited to have a tour of our facilities and meet with an admissions counselor." then gives me a number to call. I would have called, but their office is probably closed for the day. So, was that an invite to interview? I feel stupid asking, but I haven't had any other invites yet so I'm not sure.

Unfortunately no 🙁

The interview email invite will start with the following: "On behalf of the Committee on Admissions at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected to interview as a candidate for the Class of 2014"

Hang in there man!

That's good to know. At least now I will be able to sleep tonight. Otherwise, I would have wondered myself crazy.

Yes... It is an informal ii... My friend had one like that two years ago... He went and had a campus tour... there were multiple students...He was subsequently accepted. He told me it was weird because they were the ones asking questions about the school--not the other way around... My friend even showed me the email because I did not believe him...

I already rescheduled once at lecom and apparently thats all they will allow. Its ok ill just make two trips, might as well get used to being in debt

Turns out it wasn't an interview invite. I called and they didn't know why I received that email in the first place. Kinda weird.

Wow... I swear my friend had something like that two years ago... Did you talk the person mentioned in the email?

Okay based on last year, tomorrow could be it. Fingers crossed! Good luck to my 8/27 crew! And all the rest as well!

Based on last year, you guys should have received your emails last week. However, I agree with you that there's a good chance that it could be tomorrow. I have a feeling that they will send out the decision emails to more than one group of interviewees. Perhaps the 8/27 and the following group.

Whatever it is, I wish all of us the best. I would truly love to have all of you as classmates for the next 4 years.

I really hope we find out tomorrow. :luck:

Thanks! I feel the exact same way, I think we have a great group of people this cycle.

Interview day was great, questions were same as already mentioned. I was a little nervous and I'm sure they could tell. I hope everyone today makes it!!

Interviewed today. We were told we should know if we were A/WL/R by Nov. 8--such a long wait.

Sidenote-- I really did not feel welcome.... I guess ACOM staff set the bar high for me.

I know this has been answered before, but does NSU require a physician letter prior to an interview invite or before an acceptance?

Curious as to why as well. You don't have to be overly specific, but would be nice to know why it didn't feel homely.

You can get an II without it, but you should send it in before the interview. If you don't, I believe you can speak to them and they say to get it in ASAP since they can't accept you without it.

Good to know. I'll submit my secondary today. My last letter writer keeps flaking out on me.

I have the unfortunate experience of living in Jacksonville, FL. I'm going to be making some phone calls tomorrow and find another letter writer.

You're trying to get a DO letter? Call up UF Shands-Jacksonville. There must be a DO you can shadow there.

Yea, I'll be calling around there tomorrow. My initial DO letter writer is at Shands.

Good luck to the earlier groups.

I also hope to have you all as classmates! My interview on the 10th seemed like a great group.

:luck:

Actually, you can get an II and be provisionally accepted without the physician letter. That was my situation last year (accepted in Jan). I was told to have it in before school started so I could be "officially" accepted and receive financial aid (turned it in a couple of weeks before school started). However, as everyone would probably agree, I'd suggest getting it ASAP so you can avoid problems or so you can use it for other schools.

Hmm. Not sure if Google is checking my mail every 15 minutes like it's supposed to (mobile app). Better refresh...

Lol, same here. I actually just called to make sure that all of my updated information was in because I never got a confirmed response on them.

I think I just spoke with a student who worked in admissions, but when I asked if she knew when they would meet again she said she did not know. She also said there wasn't a decision made on my file yet, and I interviewed last week.

Do any students have some inside knowledge on when the committee might be meeting?

You interviewed last week. You have no right to be impatient yet! Back5 and I were in the group who interviewed on August 27th! It's been quite a while for us! :scared:

Yes, but we were all given the same Oct 4 date as a deadline to hear back from 😛. Plus I'm basing my decision to buy tickets to an interview across the country on if I hear back today or not. Last year the decisions were grouped together with late august/first/second week of september and people around this time still heard back around today. Hoping for the best 👍

Yeah really hoping this is the day. It's been a long three weeks. Hopefully we'll all be celebrating together later on here!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! Jeez. I wish they would've met more frequently and doled out our decision sooner.

Well, in any case, good luck to you too!:luck::luck::luck::luck:

Has it only been 3 weeks? Seems like we interviewed so long ago. They really weren't kidding with the Oct date it seems.

Anyone recently receive an interview? Can I get an update on the timeline? When you applied, what date you interview and how many dates are open in oct/nov?

Doesn't look like many II's have gone out in the past month because there are still 4 Nov dates open which is the same it was several weeks ago.

I hope you guys are right about the trends. I already sat here last Friday biting my fingernails...
