Did anyone happen to have a Helen as the sender for their acceptance packet? Just curious as I have been waiting for mine to be sent to the right address and I missed registered mail from that sender today.
 
Has anyone from the 9/24 group gotten acceptances yet? I am hoping to see some familiar faces next year haha

I'm an M1 at NSU and I can honestly say that I have not seen or heard of any behavior that fits the "gunner" mentality. In fact, it's been quite the opposite. The entire class shares materials online, bounces questions back and forth on fb, and even posts reminders about due dates, documents needed for class, notes, mnemonics, etc. Stress will be there, like any other med school, but not because of classmates.

+1. I haven't seen or heard of anyone try to sabotage or screw people over.

Starting to lose hope 🙁. This school means everything to me, it's my #1 choice. I interviewed 10/17, and still waiting for a response. I've been watching other people on sdn who interviewed after me get accepted, so I'm getting nervous. I've called the office a few times and they said a decision is pending. Is anyone in the same boat as me?

Although I suppose if people who interviewed 9/19 were just hearing now, I guess it could take a while.

Accepted! Interviewed 10/17. I received the missing documents (official transcripts) email a few days before being pleasantly surprised with an acceptance packet yesterday, unable to fit inside my mailbox. withoutlyrics is right about interviews: I didn't think mine went that well here, and at another school I got rejected from, I thought I nailed the interview. No news is good news to all of those who interviewed haven't been accepted yet. And for those that got the rejection letter or were waitlisted, keep your heads up and keep trying. 🙂
 
Ahh! I was interviewed on 10.31, and I am dying to know :dead: But I haven't seen anyone posting from that interview day yet. Looks like we will be waiting a bit longer, which, really, isn't long at all compared to some of the people from September!

Is there a way to check your status on WebStar? When I log in under admissions, I can only see a Processed Applications section with my submitted application a brief summary, but there is no status of my application. Should that be on the portal somewhere? Does anyone else have access to their application status?

Not that I have found. It seems kinda worthless compared to others'.
 
has anyone been able to get in touch with linda ferris to schedule an interview date that isnt on the calendar?
 
It's probably been asked already, but is there an official facebook group for NSU class of 2018?
 
Accepted !! Interviewed 10/17, didn't get an e-mail but got a package in the mail postmarked 11/08.

Your MCAT looks phenomenal !! I was accepted with a 3.7c/3.5s and 24 MCAT and lots of extracurriculars, if they offer you interview make sure you push for well-rounded ness and eagerness for culture of surrounding urban/Spanish population. Good luck!
 
Yes, NSUCOM Class of 2018 is the group name. I dont have the link since I'm on my phone, but it should be a few pages back if you can't find it by the name. 🙂

I just got an email stating that my decision (post-interview) is "pending." They said the Class of 2014 is full, and they are not reviewing new applicants or granting anymore interviews. Did anyone get this email?

I haven't gotten this email yet, but I've yet to interview. What would this mean if we have an interview scheduled?
 
If you already got an ii you're fine. I interpreted this as they're not offering more ii or considering new apps.
I applied early tho, like my app was complete 6/28, and I got an ii 8/2. I guess my mistake was interviewing in october, but i doubt that should make a difference.

Don't worry, people have to make their deposits soon, so I doubt everyone that got accepted will put down the deposit.

Just to clarify I'm not waitlisted i'm just "pending." ughhh

I have a hard time believing that their class for 2014 is already full... They have fairly large class sizes (~240) and likely over-accept anyway. Has anyone else heard something like this or received a similar email? Also I interviewed on 10.31 and have yet to receive news and did not receive anything similar.
 
I know it's hard to believe. I can send you a copy if the email. I'm not lying lol. For our sakes I hope the lady was jk lol

Oh for sure! I don't think you're lying, I just wonder if it was some kind of mistake, ha.
 
Wow that would be crazy! I've never heard of that happening. I though they interview thru March.

I doubt that most people will send a deposit though. Should be a lot of movement after December when people don't turn in their deposits. As it has been said, a lot of MD stat people turn in an app to NSU and then withdraw if they get into an MS school.

LoL. Guess I should have applied earlier... Also, I suppose this dispels earlier suggestions that applying later was somehow beneficial...

Edit: Anyone get any response from Miss Ferris? I sent an LOI a while back and no confirmation of my email, even though I asked if she could let me know it was received.

Just be yourself. Be able to answer why DO, why a physician, why NSU for sure. Know your application inside and out.

Also I know plenty of my classmates who interviewed in February and were accepted - so keep your heads up everyone! It ain't over till it's over!

Agree! When I walked in the first thing my interviewer said is that I have a very charming smile...which gave me a slight boost of confidence haha. Also make eye contact and hand gestures. It shows you're engaged in the conversation. If you have poor grades have a reason for it (but do not say it was your professor's fault because no one likes the blame game).

I think this is super weird bc I just interviewed here and they said they interview about nine hundred and something ppl and there is nooooo way they already have interviewed all those ppl.
 
Right... I definitely am skeptical of this email. Especially if nobody else has received anything similar.

Edit: Again, I don't think that Chillywilly was lying about anything, I just think it was a mistake on their part in the email department.

Yeah, I was shocked it was actually closer to 1000 ppl ... the woman then went into saying how we jumped the largest hurdle which was landing the interview which is really selective bc they have thousands of applicants... umm you're going to throw out 750 of us :/

Then again the woman who said all this usually doesn't give this info and she was filling in for someone else, so maybe her numbers were not exact. Also another woman said something like last year they took around 230 people, but they don't have a set number they may take 250 ppl if they have a really strong applicant pool, which I thought was kinda strange too!

Come to think of it, it might've been an error. She actually said the entering class of 2013 was full. I just assumed it was a typo cuz the email was sent to me yesterday, so I thought she meant 2014. But now looking back at the email, maybe it was an error
