Hi all,

Congrats to the accepted and interviewing candidates! And good luck to all applicants - hang in there, I know you're all super amazing!

I have been recently accepted, and am looking for a roomate. I've been posting at a variety of places, but haven't received many responses back yet, so I thought I'd give it a shot here if anyone is looking for a roomate. NRMP tells students whether or not they matched today. Students don't find out where they matched until Friday. But yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the match list in the near future.

Ah gotcha I didn't know they were on different days. So excited to know!
 
They actually told our group that we wouldn't hear back until this coming Friday which is why I was so pleasantly surprised.
 
I came home today and my dad told me there was a letter from Nova. My heart dropped since they said acceptance are coming via email and anything in the mail is bad news. I was crying on the inside as I opened it... Turned out to be a financial aid form.

I'm the most impatient person haha

Hey guys, I have an interview coming up in April and I was wondering if anyone who has interviewed here or accepted can please please please give some pointers to help out?? I REALLY want to go here and would really appreciate the help. Also, can anyone tell me what hotel they stayed at and if the NSU discount thing actually worked? I've called a couple places and they have "no idea what the NSU discount stuff is." I really appreciate the help. Thanks guys!
 
Hi NSUCOMers! I completed my FAFSA about a month ago and did not include my parent information. A friend of mine that is also matriculating to medical school this coming fall told me that it was imperative that I add my parent's financial information to FAFSA. However, when I called financial aid at Nova, the person I spoke to told me that parent information is not necessary since graduate/professional students are considered independents anyway.

I'm just trying to make sure I cover all my bases and wanted to know if you all agree with what finaid at Nova is saying. Thanks!

Hey so I just completed mine and did not include my parents information. I went to a few interviews and at each interview they said parents info is not necessary for us attaining loans.

I stayed at the extended stay America in Davie and the discount worked. It was a few minute drive to the school. It wasn't as much as the webpage said but it was $95 per night I believe. If you are planning on getting a rental car, the have a very good corporate deal with Enterprise and you can find the discount code on the nova travel page!

I didn't include my parents info either. If they need it specifically, I'm sure they'll notify us.

Any current students (or avid sdn-ers) that can offer up some info on finding a place in the area, Nova's academic calendar/classes/requirements (laptop wise), and other pertinent info? Thanks 🙂
 
Can somebody please tell me where I can find an academic calendar even if it's the current M1 academic calendar... I just wanna see dates of xmas break and holidays etc. thank you!

hey there! i interviewed on 3/10, still awaiting a decision from Nova. Hoping for good news soon, and congrats on your acceptance!!

I don't have too much info on some of your questions, but I do know that Nova requires you to purchase an iPad for test taking. That info came from one of the student ambassadors at the interview. Hope that helps a bit 🙂 Congrats again!
 
Hey guys! Has anyone who interviewed on 2/25 heard back yet? I know they told us the latest we would hear back would be 3/25 but it seems they told the 3/01 interview group the latest they would hear is today. Still hoping to hear some good news soon!
 
Can anyone who interviewed 02/16 give me the email addresses of the students who gave us a tour of the college.
 
Does anyone who recently interviews in March know how many seats are available?
 
So I just spoke with Maricela to see if the admissions decisions have been determined for those that interviewed in 3/1. She stated that they are putting applications on hold while the dean makes her decisions and they are waiting to hear back regarding the offers they have pending. She said there is no specific time frame, but hopes to get an update sometime next week. She said that this does not mean a negative outcome.
 
For all the new students, we got our final matches today (for us applying acgme). Our class did really well. We have students in every sub specialty. We are currently making a list of all the places people ended up. If you work hard you won't have a problem getting where you want. Best of luck to every one and let me know if you have any questions!

For all of you who haven't been accepted yet and are anxiously waiting, I'm sure there will be some wait list movement! I'm still waiting for a few decisions myself so don't lose hope!!!
 
Ps is there a fb group? Also current students - what're the housing options for people not willing to live on campus?
 
Has anyone who interviewed 3/1 heard back? i'm assuming those of us in the 3/10 group wont be hearing back until well after they do.

There is one person in this thread from 3/1 that heard back and was accepted, may have been a special situation or something. I called about a week ago and was told the same stuff as ThoracicBean...said we might hear back this week.
