Anyone apply to BronxCare Peds? Did you have to email official NBDE scores to the program EVEN if you sent the official scores to PASS? They want NBDE scores to be emailed from ADA to their email.

Yes. The deadline doesn’t mean anything really. One professor waited a month after the deadline I put.

I think a no smiling photo would be very abrasive. Use a presentable headshot.

I smile in my photo, hopefully that’s not considered unprofessional

I think a smiling headshot would be more appropriate, especially since Pediatric Dentistry is so personality-driven and we are going to work with kids all day. A no smile headshot, at least for me, seems more impersonal than "professional".

It had been 5200 characters in the past. This year, since you can attach as a file,
there is no restriction I believe. But I’d still keep it within 5200 characters this year as well.

From what I gather most programs send them out after the application deadline so September/October is when most people will hear back

Theres no harm in trying but I find a lot of the time when you email program directors you don't get a response (maybe thats just me though)

I didnot apply to Bronxcare; so cannot answer it.
But for programs, I am sending photos by email and usually schools replying email too by saying whether they need anything else or not..

I've been working in peds for a little over 2 years so I'd rather avoid applying to programs that aren't interested in people who aren't in school (app is set to go out by the end of this week / beginning of next). If it helps, for NY programs, I'm interested in interfaith, bronxcares, columbia/nyp and st barnabas. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I couldn't find an official 2021 Pedo thread so here it is. I know it is early in the application process but I'm excited to see where we all go!

You might consider editing this original comment as interview invites are sent out and the list that was posted in a couple previous responses becomes updated! I totally understand if that is too much work for one person, but this would be a convenient way to make it so that it can always be found at the beginning of the thread.
