As of now, we have a Non-Match General Practice Residency spot available at West Virginia University for the upcoming 2023-2024 year.
The WVU GPR program is a 1-year program affiliated with the WVU School of Dentistry and Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
We are looking for hard-working individuals to join our team this upcoming 2023-2024 year.
Primary responsibilities will include the following:
1) Every other week block schedule consisting of one week of resident general dentistry clinic with high level of autonomy and the other week consisting of seeing patients in the speciality clinics of OMFS, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics
2) Hospital dentistry operating room cases with OR block time every Friday to treat medically complex patients including frequent full mouth dental rehabs
3) Shared call responsibilities between the two GPR residents every other week for infections and dentoalveolar related issues (call is covered by OMFS residents on the other weeks)
Educational opportunities provided by the program will include:
1) Weekly oral pathology seminar in the fall
2) Didactic course on History and Physical taking in the fall
3) Weekly didactic lectures covering broad scope topics within oral and maxillofacial surgery with the OMFS residents and attendings
4) Two week rotations on internal medicine wards as well as anesthesia
Residents receive a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with a PGY1 resident.
The following documentation is required for consideration:
1) Graduate of an ADA accredited dental school

3)Ability to obtain unrestricted West Virginia dental license by July 1, 2023
